“They don’t think you’re going to show up,” Walker explains, speaking for the first time since I came downstairs. “They want you all dead.”

“You feel that?” I question.

He shakes his head. “I’ve seen it.” The psychic’s hard gaze travels around the room. “You won’t get a fair trial. This is an execution.”

“I’m assuming you’ve seen it play out that way?”

“Yes.”

“Is it possible to change what you’ve seen?” Tarnley questions.

“Yes,” he says again. “But unlikely.”

“Tell us what you saw.” Rainey takes a step forward. “If we’re prepared, we might be able to get the hell out of there when things turn sideways.”
