I stiffen as the wards sense more incoming supernaturals. They’re approaching the rear of the property—and fast.Brad.With a grin, I turn back to Odette. “I am really hoping I’m the one who gets to drive a blade into your heart.”

The moment the last word is out of my mouth, dozens upon dozens of supernaturals rush forward. Some blur out, stopping just before us, the vampires showing teeth and snarling at Odette.

To my complete joy, she and the other council members jump back in fear as more continue to form a line in front of us, moments before shifters of all kinds—bears, wolves, massive felines—run forward, stopping just behind them.

Brad comes to a stop beside me, and I beam up at him. “Excellent timing.”

He winks. “You did ask for an army.”

Even as we speak, more rush out. My heart all but bursts with joy as tears fill my eyes. Although I knew we weren’t alone, seeing these supernaturals ready to fight—and die—alongside us sends new hope blossoming in my chest.

We needed a spark. What we got was an entire fucking firestorm.
