"Girl, your hair is perfect. I wish I had the courage to dye mine. Besides, the curls are great for wrapping around a fist for a good pounding." I slap my hand over my mouth, eyes widening at my words.

Letty and I have grown incredibly close but are we close enough for me to spew filthy words? Probably not, but with my hormones running rampant, sex is usually on my mind... or food.

Letty bursts out laughing, "Hopefully I find a man who can handle that. Most guys are too afraid of my brothers to treat me the way I want." She swipes her hand through the air like she wants to slap the guys.

"Hector and Brian are that protective of you too?" Stupid question, I know. After all, I've seen how they question the shit out of her when she talks to someone on the phone. They're just like her overbearing brother.

"Hell yeah they are. I can't even go to a club without a security detail on me. I'm close to poisoning the assholes just to get a good dicking."

Okay then. I guess we are close enough for the filth.

"Manuel is single," I whisper to her as I stand from the stool and tighten my robe around me. A totally different one since Leo destroyed my favorite one last night.

He's lucky the sex was so damn good.

Letty stares at me like I've lost my mind, "What? He is and he wouldn't be afraid to actually be with you."

She lifts her hands in front of her like she's stopping traffic, "Whoa, girl. We're talking about a Cartel fucking Boss. The Ruthless Vegas King. I can almost guarantee you; he won't be the kind of man I want. Someone who will take as much an interest in my mind as my body."

I purse my lips, not really buying what she's selling but before I can say anything, our mothers walk in.

These two ladies have been cooped up in Joann's apartment since yesterday. I know my mother has a storm of emotions running through her. When we got back home, I held her as she went back and forth between remorse and satisfaction for her actions. Even when I reminded her that Danny hadn't died, she went from, oh thank God to that bastard just won't die.

"Hey, ma. What do you think?" I say to wipe that sullen look from her face.

It works. Her smile is wide and sincere, "You look stunning." Then she elbows Joann who begins to walk around me while tapping her chin.

"Yes, she does. And this designer dress is just fabulous." Joann lays her hands on my shoulders while I throw on my resting bitch face, "The fluffy fleece that's seen better days? It just knocks all other women on their asses." I roll my eyes while Ma and Joann burst out laughing. I can't help but smile though, she's just trying to make my mom laugh...even if it's at my expense.

"You two are terrible crones," Letty says with a chuckle.

"Where's Leo?" Joann asks after their laughter ends.

"At the docks. He should be here in a little bit." I keep it vague for my mother but thankfully it doesn't bring the frown back as she heads to the kitchen to brew coffee.

I'm glad I don't really get nauseous with the scent anymore. Still not my favorite, but I'm not puking so that's a plus. Still though, with my nerves for tonight making my stomach twist in knots, I decide to play it safe and go get dressed.

In the closet, I find my outfit waiting on a hanger. The dress is a long-sleeved wraparound that hides the ink on my shoulders but the deep V on the front shows my neck and chest tattoo. One I want to have covered up with something else.

The clock I have used to mean the time limit on our lives, but I have so much to live for that I don't want to remind myself that one day time will end for me.

Or for someone I love, my mind whispers. I've had my fill of close calls and with Danny now captured, I want to live the rest of my days sailing on the waves instead of swimming against the current.

Taking the dress from the closest, I lay it on the bed and disrobe. I don't bother with a bra since the dress would show it, instead I put on an invisible one that will hold my breasts up while sticking to the material of the dress. Which is good because Leo would kill everyone around me if I had an accidental nip slip.

I tie a simple knot at my left hip and smooth the dress down. The hem reaches a little below my knees and it hugs my curves perfectly. I turn to the side and smile at the tiny little bump that only I notice. Well, Leo notices it too. After all, he knows my body just as well as I do.

"The guys are downstairs, Dice!" Letty yells through my door.

I slip on my black peep-toe heels before buckling my thigh gun holster. I know Leo had a tantrum yesterday with my actions, but I refuse to go anywhere with out a gun and if I can kill a bastardandreceive good sex as punishment... Am I really losing?

No, bitch. No I am not.

I kiss my mother and Joann before heading out with Letty on my arm. In the elevator, I watch as Letty fidgets with her cream-colored dress. It's a long sweater type of dress that hugs her body like a glove. The little gold chain around her middle shows how slim her waist is and I kind of want to punch her but watching her chew on her maroon lip makes my curiosity pique.

"Why are you so nervous? Are you about to meet your long-lost brother?" I ask with a snicker.

"Shut your face, Dice. I've never been out to a club with my brothers, so this is weird but also because we're going to be meeting your brother. It's called sympathy syndrome."
