I try to hand the necklace back, but Manny places his hand over mine, stopping me, "No, I want you to have it. It's the only thing I have of our father and I know both he and my mom would want you to have it."

I don't know what to say. This is the only thing he has of our father and he's giving it to me.

"But it's your birthday." I say with a chuckle as I wipe my tears, "I didn't get you anything."

Manny smiles and wipes a stray tear before standing, pulling me up with him, "How about, on your birthday, you give me a gift. We'll make it our own reverse tradition."

I smile as I turn around and lift my hair. Manuel takes the chain and clips it around my neck. I wink at Leo who walks over to us, watching the joy in my eyes.

"It's Manuel's birthday, mi amor." I say before standing on my toes to kiss him. I keep it quick, pulling back before turning and standing at his side.

"I know, that's why I wanted you to meet him today." He tells me before looking to Manuel, "The generals are late, it's safe to say they will not be coming this evening."

Leo and Manny have matching smirks as Jefa and Nico walk over to us. They look like a couple of scary fuckers even as Jefa smiles sweetly at me. The undercurrent of her smile feels vicious and dark, but it seems like that's just how she is.

"Looks like the boys have forgotten their manners, I'm Camila and this is my Nico. We've heard a lot about you, Dice."

I take her extended hand for a shake, "Good things, I hope."

"Yes, nothing but good. I have to say, I was very impressed with how you and your mother handled Danny Reyes. You are, from what I've gathered, your father's daughter. I'm honored to meet you."

I can see the sincerity in her eyes, but I don't know what to say to that, so I just smile. Luckily, the conversation switches when Jefa turns to Leo, "Now that Danny has been taken down by Dice, what do you say we complete the alliance?"

I love her fierce attitude. Unafraid to rule in a man's world and undeterred by testosterone. Jefa is a woman of power and she exudes it without apology. As we take a seat, I eye her man. I scratch what I said before, he is the only scary person in the room. Although I'm sure Jefa has to be just as deadly if she's with him, but the guy gives me vibes like no one else.

Emotionless face and watchful eyes.

He sees me looking and before I can quickly look away, he gives me a wink that sends a chill down my back. Fuck, I would not want to ever be against him.

"You reached your end of the deal, so our alliance is agreed upon. I have brought a few guns here today that I would like for you to look over. These will be some of the weapons I will be providing you." Leo says as Hector brings a duffle bag and two long suitcases over.

Leo opens the first case before spinning it and placing it down on the table between us all. inside, nestled into the protective foam lining are four guns with four loaded clips beside each. I don't see anything special about them, they look like regular guns, but as Leo begins to describe them, I know they are anything but normal.

"This is a Desert Eagle, semi-automatic with the .44 Mag."

Jefa lifts the gun, testing the weight in her hand before inspecting it. She hands it off to Nico who does the same. The look on Jefa's face has gone from open and ready for business to suspicious and unimpressed.

"That's no Desert, Leo. What game are you playing, hm?"

Leo just smirks before answering, "You're right. It's not manufactured by Magnum Research as a true Desert would be but this one is made to the exact specifications. The weight is lighter, and the material is completely undetectable by any metal detecting machine. It has no serial numbers."

"What about the bullets, are they undetectable as well?" Nico asks in a rough voice. It's barely above a whisper and for some reason it has me drawing my eyes to his neck. Through his tattoos, I can see a jagged scar that has my hand rising to my own throat. What the fuck? That's a fucked-up scar.

As they continue talking, I look at Letty who catches my gaze with a cocked brow. I wonder if she's noticed the scar too. I mouth to her that I'm going to the restroom. She nods and follows me as I make my way there, everyone still talking weapons. Both Leo and Manuel watch us go but I notice, Manny's eyes are glued to Letty.

That makes me smirk.
