Hyacinth kissed both mothers and then dropped into one of the empty seats. “I fear we have spoiled your surprise. We have already met Mr. Marsh. He came to Aurora’s rescue when her packages dropped on the street.”

Both mothers were now staring at her as she arrived under Mr. Marsh’s escort.

Aurora decided the only thing worse than being discovered gawking at the man was to be discovered doing so under the watchful eyes of a parent. This was going to be the most uncomfortable tea she had ever had in her life.
