Though, maybe I’m not the one who is really going to decide anything. It’s probably going to be all up to Osip, seems like that’s some shit that he would do. I shouldn’t let any of this bother me. I should just show up to whatever meeting he tells me to and accept whatever fate he forces me to.

Jogging down to my car, I slip into the driver’s seat and decide to call Osip while I drive toward the bar.

“You’re awake,” he says as his greeting.

“I am,” I agree. “What has happened while I’ve been resting?”

He doesn’t say anything right away. “I have talked with some of the Brigadiers,” he announces.

I already knew this, but I don’t tell him that. I wait to see what else he’s going to say to me.

“Rostam’s man has sent me a contract to look over, have you made any kind of decision?” he asks.

“Are you truly leaving it up to me?” I ask.

“I’ve decided that these issues will be separate. He brought them to the table together, but I don’t think that’s the right way to handle it. I’m willing to work with him on drug purchasing and distribution without muddying the situation with you and Isabel.”

“If I say no?” I ask.

He clears his throat but doesn’t speak right away. “It is completely separate. You can say whatever you wish. You’re one of my most trusted men, Ruslan. You always have been. This is completely up to you, whichever way you wish.”

Fuck.

Ending the call, I pull into the parking lot of the bar and I’m not any closer to a final decision. It’s a big one. I was kind of hoping he would make it for me. It would be kind of nice not needing to make this on my own. Because this decision is a really fucking big one, a permanent one.

Lifelong.

If I make the wrong one, it could fuck up a lot of people’s lives, because I have a feeling that Azar is not going to want to give up his favorite toy without a fight. Then, at the same time, the thought of my Isabel being his toy sends red-hot rage throughout my entire body.
