Did he want to read my messages or something?

Could he read?

Shit, I definitely didn’t want him to know what I’d said to Lizzy.

After deleting the messages rapidly, I pulled up the pack’s group chat and showed it to him. Text after text kept coming through, and I couldn’t keep up with it.

“Everyone’s talking about us; that’s all,” I lied.

He gave me a suspicious look, so I gave him the same one back.

Finally, he gave up on that and licked my arm.

Phew.

I scrolled through all of the group chat’s messages. Nothing too unique; everyone was still just shocked that Dax’s wolf had picked me after we’d met so many times already. They didn’t even know how many times we’d seen each other though; we had been setting up meet-ups with humans and werewolves for a couple months already, at least two or three times a week.

It wasn’t like I’d met Dax once and then decided he wasn’t attracted to me; we’d seen each other almost constantly, and he clearly hadn’t had a single drop of interest in me.

When I got bored of the group chat, I set my phone on the bench beside me and picked up Dax’s phone.
