They leave but we can still hear my mother half-shrieking and half-moaning as they go down the hall.

CHAPTER FOUR

KIT

I get off the highway and onto a two-lane road. Winding through the Montana countryside, I once again marvel at the scenery. It is breathtaking.

I haven't passed any other vehicles for miles. Farms dot the wide open prairies next to the highway.

It feels a little eerie, and I'm glad I'm here during the daylight. This looks like exactly the type of location where the aliens would come and abduct me and take me back to their ship for some probing.

Of course that makes me think about the probing which happened last night.

Does my little kitten like to have her ass played with?"He was about the sexiest man I've ever encountered. I'm no blushing virgin, but holy fuck the guy was hot. And he knew how to play me just right.

I think about the way his fingers pressed at my back hole. God, he had me writhing and I nearly begged to have him probe even further. But, I shake my head and force myself to stop thinking about him. It was a one-night thing. We both left with happy memories.

Or at least I hope so.

He sure seemed satisfied. He got hard fast enough. My pulse heats as I drive.

Stop!

I need to pay attention to what I'm doing. I check the GPS and see I'm nearing Chickadee Ridge.

As I get closer more houses come into view. They're spaced tighter together than the sprawling spreads I've seen along the way. I’m not exactly sure what Boone's farm will look like. She never showed me any pictures. Maybe I'm a poor friend for not trying to find out more, but despite her bravado Boone is an intensely private person. I respect that. And so, I let her decide what she wished to share with me. Honestly this invitation to visit her is about the biggest honor a person could receive if they know Boone.

She's mentioned her brothers but never went into a lot of detail. I pass a sign that saysWelcome to Chickadee Ridge: A Little Bird Told Us This Is a Great Place To Live.

That makes me smile. I glance around trying to imagine which house Boone lives in. She's never mentioned that any of her brothers are married and from the way she described things, they all live together in one house. With her parents being gone, they probably all need to pool their resources. Her oldest brother is in charge of everything, including Boone.

Or as much as anyone is able to be in charge of Boone.

There are some older homes in an assortment of sizes. And levels of repair. There's even a small subdivision with newer looking houses and condos in it.

Boone says she lives on a farm. My mother's voice echoes in my mind and I'll admit I'm a little nervous about what I'll find when I locate Boone. I get closer and closer, and the GPS tells me I'm only ten minutes away. But it’s a little strange since the town isn't ten minutes big.

Her farm is probably on the other side of Chickadee Ridge. That makes sense.

I think I'd feel more comfortable in Paris than I do in the Montana wilds. This is not something I've ever experienced before. People wave at me from their porches and pick-up trucks.

I make my way all through town, past a handful of bars and restaurants, a bookstore, a flower shop and a bakery. I return a couple waves.

About three miles out of town the GPS tells me to take a right on Polecat Road. It’s windy and passes clusters of trees and corrals with horses.

Some barns and small houses crop up on either side. Scanning left and right, I wonder which one is my destination. There are only a handful of houses. I don’t see Boone anywhere and the GPS says to keep going.

This makes me nervous. I’m completely out of my element and nothing makes sense. It's been about a mile and a half since I turned off of the main road and then suddenly the road stopped.

In front of me there's a huge iron gate with columns on either side and a big arch over the top emblazoned with an elongated star with a large N at the top. North.

Nothing in Boone’s instructions included the fact that I need to go through this big gate. I probably put the wrong address in the GPS or passed her house already.

I roll my eyes and sigh. I hate this sort of thing.

I look behind me and prepare to backup when I hear a voice come out of the security box next to me.

"Can I help you, miss?"
