“Are there condoms here?” She needed to ask before she lost all focus.

A moment fast approaching when he moved his hand to the button on his jeans. She registered the ache deep inside her, a need only he could fill. Her thighs pressed together, her hands reaching for him before he’d even kicked free of the denim and boxers.

“In the bathroom. The housekeeper stocks guest amenities in here.” He took her hands in his, tugging her forward as he bent closer to kiss her lips. “I’ll be right back.”

She hadn’t even registered the words when he pulled away. It took her a moment as her eyes blinked open to understand what he’d said and where he’d gone, his broad shoulders disappearing through an open door off to one side of the room.

How was it possible she could lose herself in him—in this feeling he sparked—so thoroughly? She hadn’t missed sex in the years between her first, unwise introduction to coupling and the second, toe-curling experience Drake had given her when they were together before. She’d been focused on culinary school and work.

But right now, with her fingers shaking a little as she drew off her T-shirt and reached for the snap on her jean shorts, she wondered how she could go for a week without this feeling, let alone months. Years.

She’d never known it could be this way.

And that was her last rational thought before Drake reappeared in the bedroom, his dark brown eyes lasering in on her near nakedness, his steps charging toward her like a man on a mission.

Her breath caught on a gasp, and then his arms were around her, his mouth on hers, capturing the air. She melted into him as he laid her on the bed, her limbs turning to liquid when he stretched out over her. Covering her.

His skin felt hot against hers, and she craved his warmth. His strength. The scents she associated with him filled her nostrils as his tongue stroked possessively over hers. Her hips tilted toward him, seeking more. Craving connection.

“Drake, please,” she urged him faster, her hands roaming over his body to catalog the ripples of muscles and the stretch of ligaments, her fingers fascinated with every sinew and plane. “I need you.”

Was it too revealing that she hungered for him this badly? No, she told herself. It was physical. A sensual appetite that could surely be appeased.

If her own passion intimidated her, at least his seemed to match it. Hooking a finger in the lace of her white thong, he dragged the insubstantial fabric down her thighs and off, leaving her in just the matching lace bra.

His hands moved to that next, though, slipping the straps down her shoulders as he kissed each nipple through the decorative cups, turning the peaks into tight points.

Then he licked a path through the valley between her breasts, flicking open the fastening there with one finger so he could feast on her hungrily.

All the while she arched and writhed against him, wanting to feel him inside her.

When she reached between them to stroke over his erection from base to tip, the ragged growl he made sent thrills through her.

“You don’t make it easy for me to take my time with you, do you?” He asked the question as he kissed his way back up her chest to her throat and along her jaw to her ear, where he nipped the lobe gently.

A shiver tripped down her spine.

“I’ve thought about this too many times since we were together last,” she admitted, the words tumbling out with zero filters. It couldn’t be helped, though.

Something inside her had been unleashed, and she couldn’t seem to call it back now.

“You’re all I’ve thought about, Fleur,” he rasped out between kisses, and she took his face in her hand to steer his mouth to hers, wanting to drink in what he’d said. To taste the need on her tongue and savor it.

The greedy way he kissed her, the press of his hips against hers underscored his words. She reached blindly around the bed for the condom and unwrapped the package, her fingers fumbling but fueled by desire.

“Let me.” He took the condom from her, sheathing himself in one easy move before he levered up to sit on the edge of the bed, taking her with him.

For a moment, she wasn’t sure where he wanted her, but then he lifted her onto his lap to straddle him. Their eyes met. Held.

When he lifted her again, he positioned her right where she needed to be so that she sank down, down and deeper down onto him. The feeling was perfect, filling her completely, so that she wanted to stay there forever.

Except then Drake moved, and she realized that was exactly what she needed. Her legs locked around him while his hips withdrew and then pistoned forward. Again and again.

Each thrust took her higher. Every moment of sharing her body with him seemed to tangle him in her heart. Deeper and deeper.

The thought was a dangerous one, but it was as inescapable as the release shimmering just out of reach. So close.

“Fleur.” His breath stirred her hair, the word soft and passionate as any prayer. “Let go with me. Feel me.”
