Although knowing he loved her might have had a little to do with the way she felt weightless and buoyantly joyful.

“I like the sound of that. I hope it involves you cooking for me again.”

“It means standing behind you with whatever you decide to do. Offering advice when you need it. Letting you fight your battles with your father but being a sounding board when you want it. Whatever you and your sisters decide to do, you’ll have my full support.”

His eyes lit with promise as the sound of fireworks exploded outside over the creek. Up at the barn, the wedding guests cheered.

She knew they needed to join Emma and celebrate her wedding, but Drake held her there a moment longer.

“I’m going to do so much more than that,” he vowed. “And when you want to start a restaurant, I hope you’ll keep in mind that I just happen to have one.”

She laughed, dizzy with the promise of the life they could share together. There were still problems ahead. Things that needed to be resolved with her sisters and their legacy from their grandmother. But knowing that this man was in her corner was a dream come true.

“I’ll keep it in mind. For now, we’d better go watch the fireworks.” Taking his hand, she tugged him toward the side door. “This is the perfect time to celebrate a happily-ever-after.”

“I like the sound of that,” he said in her ear, right before he swept her off her feet and into his arms. “Almost as much as I’m going to like calling youMrs. Silver Spurs.”
