“If you’re talking about you and multiple partners at the same time, believe me, I am dying to hear about the logistics of something like that, butnot right now.”

He gave me an almost shy smile. He was so adorable. “No conversation.”

“Seff, I’m going to have to insist you take me to bed, or the futon, or the table, or the floor. Just, please, take me.”

His shy smile immediately shifted to something wicked and sexy. Then, his arms were around me like a vise, his open mouth over mine, his tongue wet and probing, exploring my mouth as I explored his. He made me moan and squirm and pray that he might enjoy sucking other places on my body.

“I fuckin’ love your mouth,” he said between kisses. “I’ve been thinking about kissin’ you all day.”

His lips were back on mine before I could speak. He knew I felt the same way. Though this was a great start, I ached for more. More kisses. More touches. More everything. I’d been holding him as hard as he held me, and when I moved my hands down to his beautifully muscular ass, he growled and pressed his erection into my belly.

“I lied,” he moaned against my lips. “Been thinking about makin’ love to you all damn day.” He ground his hard length against me again, and it was my turn to moan.

“Yes, please.”

He shucked out of his jacket and tossed it next to mine on the futon. Then I was up in his arms and headed for my bedroom. He set me on the edge of my bed, then took a step back. His eyes flicked down to my still bare breasts, up to my mouth, and then settled on my eyes.

“Holy hell, you are so gorgeous. You look like a freakin’ Viking Princess.”

Heat suddenly filled my cheeks. “No one has ever told me I was gorgeous.”

“What? That...” His snap of anger filled the small room. “Well, that’s a fucking shame.”

Tillman had not once complimented me. Not until the night he died.

Part of me wanted to hide.

Seff gazed at me with a determined set to his jaw. “You sure, Des? You got even a shred of doubt, you say so, and I’ll stop. We’ll stop. I—we can wait.”

Wait? No.

“I can’t wait.” I didn’t mean to scowl, but I knew I did. The wolf inside me refused to let me hide, and there was no reason to wait. “I couldn’t be more sure. You’re mysakana.” I placed my hands flat on his chest. “I wish we hadn’t been brought together because of death. I wish you could’ve met me before the loss of my pack had filled me with so much grief and sadness. I’m not who I was even two days ago. All I know now is we have a bond and waiting to complete that bond is...”A waste of time. I shook my head. “I’m sure, Seff. Absolutely sure you are the male I am meant to spend my life with.”

He leaned forward, braced his hands on either side of me. “And I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life, darlin’, but...” His features softened. “You don’t know the first thing about me, and I’m so damn scared once you find out who I am, what I’ve done, you’re gonna wish you never met me.”

“I know who you are. I know what you’ve done. Jessy Louvel is my cousin, remember?” I pulled a funny face as he sighed, looked up to the heavens, and let out a groan. I urged his face back to mine. “From the moment we met, we were connected in a way so many of our kind will never experience.” I knew in my soul our relationship would be at a much deeper level, a more intimate level than either Seff or I could imagine. “I want you, and I don’t want to wait to have you.”

I tugged his thermal from his jeans. He grasped the back and pulled it up over his head. Looking at him—his broad, sculpted chest, the small patch of dark hair right in the center, the soft trail that led down into the waistband of his jeans, his thick muscular arms—gods, I could barely breathe. Most wolves were naturally muscular, but Seff looked like he was no stranger to hard, physical work. The thought of licking my way around his pecs and abs made my mouth water.

“Darlin’, you keep looking at me like that, and I’ll—”

A low vibration rose from the floor, causing the bed beneath me to vibrate.

Seff took a deep breath. “What is that?”

“I thought it was you.”

He shook his head slowly.

I closed my eyes and focused as the vibration grew stronger.

A rumbling engine sounded way off in the distance.

I yanked my cami up to cover my bare breasts and slid from the bed to the floor. The vibration grew even stronger. I sprinted to the front door with Seff right behind me. Once outside on the wooden walkway, we stood silent, listening as the engine traveled closer. My dad came out of his yurt, Decker behind him.

“That’s not a truck,” Seff said.

“No, it’s a Snow Cat,” I answered.
