“I agree. If he doesn’t love you the way you are, get rid of him.” Although she hadn’t exactly said that. “Does this mean you’re going to break up with him?”

“No.”

Why?was my first thought, but I caught myself before saying it out loud.

“I finally decided it was time to stop guessing what he was thinking and just ask him.” Rayne smiled. “Actually, my brother told me to stop assuming and talk to him. So, I did.”

“Smart brother,” Delaney said.

Rayne smiled. “Well, it was all probably my sister-in-law, secretly telling my brother what to say, so she likely deserves the credit.” She waved her hand. “Anyway, I sat my boyfriend down and flat-out asked him if he wasn’t attracted to me anymore.”

My eyes widened with surprise. I couldn’t see her being so bold.

“He actually looked so shocked that I believed him. I’d figured he would deny it and make excuses.” She laughed. “But he seemed at a loss for words, and it was honestly the best response.”

“But did he give you a reason for why things have been different?” I asked.

“His job has been stressful, and he’s been tired.”

I called bullshit. That seemed to be every man’s excuse. Sure, it could be legitimate. Everyone got tired and overworked sometimes, but it was still suspicious, if you asked me. But since she hadn’t, I wasn’t going to say anything else.

I did, however, glance over at Delaney, and if I was reading the look on her face correctly, she didn’t quite trust the boyfriend’s excuse either.

Rayne’s expression slowly transformed into pure happiness. “And we’re going on vacation for a whole week. Just the two of us. No work, no family, no friends, no commitments but each other.” She lifted her shoulders up and beamed. “I’m kind of excited.”

“It’s always good to get away,” Delaney said very diplomatically.

I just hoped for Rayne’s sake, her boyfriend was telling the truth.

But I sure was grateful that I was single. Thesex appointmentstuff was working out perfectly for me.

D Appointment:You coming over tonight? Or am I coming there?

I putmy feet up on the edge of my desk and grinned. When Dominick had put his number into my phone, he had called himselfD Appointment, and I hadn’t bothered to change it.

The truth was, it made me smile every time a message popped up from him.

Me:I don’t recall us having plans.

D Appointment:We do now.

Me:Since when? Says who?

D Appointment:Now. Me.

D Appointment:I need inside you real bad.

Damn. Even with bad grammar, his dirty talk made me hot. So hot that I didn’t even correct it.

Me:What if I told you I actually have plans tonight and I can’t?

D Appointment:I’d cry.

Laughing, I sent him another text.
