He scoffed and made a face of disgust. “Is this another thing your ex wouldn’t do?”

“Him and a lot of other people.”

“Hmm. I don’t care about blood and that crap.” He tossed my underwear, or what was left of it, in the small garbage can in the corner. “We’re fucking.”

I was beginning to wonder if he’d lost his mind. Gone was the cheerful guy in my kitchen.

I put my hand on his chest again. “Dominick.”

He raised his brow.

“I don’t know if this is some foreplay or what, but I need you to be serious right now.” I put my hands together, emphasizing my next words. “Gina hooked me up with you as a D appointment. We were only supposed to have sex once.”

I chuckled to try to lighten the mood.

Dominick did not.

“Then, we had sex a few more times. But we weren’t supposed to be more than a one-time thing. A fling. And that’s why I called it off with you.”

He studied my face, and after a few seconds, he stripped off his T-shirt. Even in the midst of this strange conversation, I wanted to run my hands over his tattoos and muscles.

“I don’t know why you’re lying to me again.” He pushed his pants and boxers off with one quick shove.

I licked my lips when his dick popped out, all stiff and proud. I looked up at Dominick’s face again. “I—”

He grabbed my ponytail and pulled my head back as he pushed himself against me. His chest was warm against mine, his hard length brushed against my clit, and his mouth was against my ear.

“I said, don’t lie to me. Gina sent me a text last week. I know you saw me with her, jumped to conclusions, and called things off with me. Baby, there hasn’t been anyone since the moment I met you.”

I closed my eyes, hoping if I couldn’t see him, I’d feel less like a fool. A fool for misreading the situation and a fool for developing feelings.

“As for theno condomthing”—he moved back just enough to shove two fingers inside of me—“that wasn’t my goal.” He stroked in and out. “In fact, my goal was not to have sex with you at all. But once I saw you, I couldn’t help myself.” He bit my neck. “Because I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you.” He pulled his hand away and drove his cock deep inside of me.

I cried out.

“And now that I’ve had you raw, now that I’ve had you without anything between us, I’mnevergoing back.”

“But-but…”

He twisted his hips, and I lost my train of thought.

“But what?”

“But we’re not even dating,” I managed to pant out as I clawed at his biceps.

He bit my neck again. “Vivian, we are fucking way past dating. You are mine. You are not going anywhere. I’m not going anywhere. You are never getting rid of me.”

“But your brother?”

He growled in my ear. “Baby, that had better be the last time you talk about another man while I’m inside you,” he said with a pinch to my clit.

I screamed, and my legs shook for a second. “You know what I meant.”

“He’ll move in here with us. The rest we’ll figure out later.” He kissed me. “Okay?”

This didn’t make sense. None of it made sense. Except that I didn’t want him to go. I wanted all the things he’d promised me.

I nodded the best I could since he still had his hand in my hair. “Okay.”
