“We’re just about to leave but can stop in when we get back.” I hear him talking to someone and notice he has his cell to his ear. “Sounds good,” he says before ending the call.

“Is everything okay?” I ask.

“Yes, just Rose and Leo being pests, wanting me to bring you by so they can meet you. I’ve talked to each of them no less than four times already this morning,” he says as he links our hands together and leads me to the elevator.

“Do we need to stop in before we go eat?” I ask as he hits the lobby button.

“Nope, they can wait,” he states as the elevator zooms down the forty floors. It must be one of those speed elevators, as once it starts, I don’t think it would stop, even if someone pressed a button on another floor.

“Are you okay with walking, it is only two blocks away,” he says as we step out into the sunshine.

“Yes, the movement will probably help wake me up and get my blood moving. I’m feeling a little stiff this morning.”

“I’ve got something that will help with that.” He smirks, kissing my cheek.

“You are horrible.” I laugh, smacking his shoulder as we walk down the sidewalk.

It takes us less than ten minutes to arrive at the little café. They seat us immediately at one of the two person tables on the patio, our server bringing two glasses of water with her as she approaches the table.

“Welcome, can I get either of you something to drink besides water?” she asks.

“I’ll take a raspberry tea, please,” Nathan orders.

“Coffee, the larger the better,” I tell her. “With room for some cream, please.”

“Of course, do you want sugar, as well?”

“No, thank you,” I tell her as I start to look over the menu. My mouth waters as I read over all the options, but settle on a scramble platter. It has a good mixture of breakfast and pseudo lunch items, that I can make it pass for a brunch.

“What’s your favorite thing here?” I ask Nathan as I set the menu down.

“I either go for the daily special or stick with the chicken bacon wrap with avocado slices.”

“Oh, both of those sound amazing,” I tell him, but that scramble platter is still calling my name. Our server returns, bringing our drinks, and I quickly add the cream to the piping hot, extra-large cup of coffee, then down half of it faster than I should have for how hot it is. I don’t care, as I need the caffeine boost. We both order, then turn back to one another once the waitress has left the table.

“Anything specific you wanted to do today?” Nathan asks. “I didn’t plan much, not knowing how tired you’d be from working and then traveling yesterday.”

“I’m good with keeping it easy and just hanging around your place. Maybe we can order in for dinner?” I suggest. “Do you have outdoor balcony or roof access?” I ask, seeing as how I haven’t had my full tour of his place and don’t recall seeing a balcony.

“I have a rooftop patio area, outfitted with a grill, lounge chairs, and a small lap pool.”

“You really do have everything, don’t you?” I smirk.

“Now I do,” he says, leaning in to press a kiss to my lips.

“Charmer.” I laugh, and he just kisses me harder.

“When we’re done here, we can stop by the office and I’ll introduce you to a few people, show you where I usually spend my days, and sometimes late nights. Then, we can head back upstairs. If you need a nap or want to head up to the rooftop and relax, we can do whatever. I don’t have any commitments today.”

“How about we just see where the day takes us?” I suggest.

“If that’s what you want to do, then I’m fine with that,” he says.

Our server approaches with our food, setting it down in front of both of us. “Can I get either of you anything else at the moment?” she asks.

“I’m good, and this looks and smells amazing,”

“I’m good for now, as well,” Nathan states, flashing a quick smile.
