I pull back the brown paper that is covering the kitchen counters, revealing the gorgeous quartz we picked out.

“Aren’t these stunning?” I say, my eyes widening when I see it all fully done. “They wanted marble, but it’s so hard to maintain, and with kids, they would be stained. I convinced them to go with this quartz for the counters here and then this black leather finish for the island.”

Dylan is smiling at me as I run my hand over it, enjoying the smoothness of it under my fingers.

“It’s perfect, Tess,” he says, moving so he has me backed against the counter. With his lips next to my ear, his breath warm against my skin, he whispers, “Someday we’re going to have a house like this, on a large plot of land, and you’ll have designed and built every inch of it.”

“I want that with you,” I admit, hoping that yesterday was just a fluke, that he really did just forget his phone. I try not to let my anxiety over the situation cloud how I’m feeling right now. Everything feels perfect. Everything with Dylan is perfect.

“I want everything with you, Tessa. Everything. I mean it.” He begins to suck at my neck, my head falling back as I move my hips against his. I’m making out in my clients’ house, and I don’t give a shit. With Dylan, it’s intense and all-consuming and I want it to be this way forever.

I hook my leg around his hip, pulling him closer, moaning when he nips at my collarbone. I’m starting to wonder if we shouldn’t check out the bedroom, even if there’s no bed.

“God, Tessa, I want you all the fucking time now. I can’t get enough of you,” Dylan growls, his hand sliding under my top and up to my bra. His fingers find my nipple through the soft lace and within a few seconds, he’s pulled the cup down, making me moan even more. “I wanna fuck you right here against this counter.”

I giggle, loving his words and everything they’re doing to me. He has me wet and wanting him. “Are you hard for me?” I purr, the tip of my tongue tracing his lips now.

“Why don’t you find out?” he responds, his words deep and sexy.

I slip my hand into the front of his jeans, wrapping my fingers around him, and loving the moan that falls from his mouth as I circle my finger over the head of his cock.

“My pussy is so wet for you, Dylan,” I now murmur in his ear, and I feel his chest vibrate with a possessive growl. “Now that you’ve made me come, I can’t get enough of your cock. I want you inside me. Filling me and making me scream—”

My thoughts are cut short by a literal scream, and I shove Dylan away.

“Ewww! Disgusting!” A little voice shrieks out and a second one bursts out laughing. When Dylan and I turn to look, we find Olivia and Oscar, Jack and Lauren’s niece and nephew, Will and Ellen’s kids, standing in the entry to the kitchen watching us.

Oh my god, how long have they been standing there? I can only hope by the sound of Olivia’s startled scream that they just happened upon us seconds ago. Worse than that, what did they hear?

“Shouldn’t you two be at school?” Dylan barks out, attempting to adjust himself discreetly, but failing miserably given the size of him and the hard-on he’s currently sporting.

“Um, it’s Sunday,” Oscar deadpans, his face flat, while Olivia still has her nose wrinkled up in disgust. I bite down hard on my lip to keep from laughing at how ridiculous this situation is.

Lauren did give me a heads up that the twins are like expert ten-year-old ninjas and they tend to find trouble or in this case, sexy times, without warning.

“Sunday School?” Dylan now questions, digging for something.

“We don’t even go to church,” Olivia replies. “Why is everyone always kissing here? I swear when I grow up, I’m moving so far away from here.”

“Seriously,” Oscar echoes.

“What are you two doing in here anyway? This is a construction zone,” Dylan says, trying to sound authoritative, but these two seem like they’ve handled their fair share of adults.

“I don’t see your hardhat or your safety goggles,” Oscar bites back, making it so I can’t hold back the laugh.

“Something’s hard, kid, that’s for sure. Now get out of here before your Uncle Jack comes by and yells at you,” Dylan tries now, using Jack as a threat.

“Uncle Jack? You picked the wrong relative. He’s the one we get in troublewith. You should’ve said Aunt Lauren or Mom and then maybe we would’ve went running,” Olivia adds, and Lauren was right, these two are good.

Dylan narrows his eyes at them and pretend lunges, which only makes them giggle and run for the door. Oscar shouts out, “Put on a hardhat, you don’t want anything bad to happen!”

It’s hard not to smile thinking about what just happened, and Dylan and I both burst out laughing. They really are like ninjas. We didn’t even hear them coming.

“Oh, I wanted something bad to happen,” Dylan yells back. “It got interrupted!”

“I guess that was our wake-up call to get moving, huh?” I say, leaning in and kissing Dylan as I pat the front of his jeans. “Looks like we’ll have to wait till tonight to take care of this.”

“That’s cruel, Tessa, which means tonight, you’re going to get it.”

“I can’t wait.”
