“I don’t want to move, beautiful, but I have to take care of things.”

“Hurry back.” She cradled the back of his head in her hand and pulled his face to hers.

After a few minutes of kissing, he broke away. “You’ll be the death of me.”

He rolled off her and headed for the bathroom. He glanced in the mirror and smiled. He couldn’t remember the last time he felt this good. Coda had awakened emotions in him he didn’t think possible. God help him, but he wanted much more than this one weekend.

Could we have it?

When he returned, she’d put on his t-shirt and turned the covers back on the huge bed. He came up from behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. “As sexy as you look in my shirt, I think I like you better naked.”

“I get cold really quick and I like the way your shirt smells.”

“I’ll keep you warm.” He tugged at the bottom of the shirt, lifting it over her head. “Much better.”

“You like getting your way, don’t you?” She crawled into the bed and propped up the pillows.

“Did you just figure that out?” He climbed in next to her. “I always get my way.”

“Spoiled rich boy.” She giggled.

“I can’t argue that.” He snuggled in behind her. “I want to hold you.” He’d never been big on post-cuddling or conversation after sex, but with Coda everything seemed new and different.

“You’ll get no complaints from me.” She leaned her head back against his chest and stared into his eyes. “Tonight was perfect.”

“Remember when I said you had managed to win over my family?” When he stroked her hair, she relaxed against him. “You’ve won me over too.”

She kissed his cheek. No words were needed. Pulling her closer to him, he kissed the top of her head and held her tight. She’d be hard to let go. Tonight or any other night.

Chapter 8

Coda opened her eyes, but quickly threw the pillow over her face to block out the sunlight pouring in through the large windows across from the bed. She heard Spencer in the distance.

“Have it delivered to the lobby as soon as possible. I don’t care how much the messenger fee is. Get it here before the ceremony.”

He must have been talking to the art department about getting another set of logos sent to the hotel. Did the man ever get a day off? The agency had been working on that account for weeks. She’d stayed with Vince as he worked late into the night on those logos.

She stretched her sore muscles. She grinned like a silly teenager when she thought about how they had gotten so tired. She’d never spent the night with anyone before. She thought having sex all night was a myth made up by soap opera writers. She had no idea anyone could climax that many times. Spencer had a gift. Nothing he did to her felt wrong. His every action made her crave more.

“You awake, beautiful?” The mattress dipped and then he pried the pillow from her face. “Morning.” He leaned down and kissed her. “I’ve been waiting for you.”

I have too. My whole life.

“Hi.” She reached up and ran her hand along his morning stubble. “How long have you been awake?”
