Kaleem bent down so he was at eye level with Colin. “You’ll die knowing you killed your only grandson who loved you and only wanted your approval. You’ll die slowly while Mathieu leads the Bluemoon Pack, and you’ll be erased from existence and forgotten.”

Kaleem stood up and walked away, and Colin’s eyes fluttered close, not before I saw the defeat in them.

Kaleem picked me up, and I didn’t care that he was naked or that I was, our clothes ripped from shifting, and Marian removed her jacket and threw it over me.

“Are you okay?” Kaleem asked when I was covered, and I nodded.

“I will be,” I whispered. “Where is Dad?”

Kaleem looked apologetic, and I knew what the answer was. “He’s staying at the pack,” he answered, and I nodded.

I wasn’t angry. Dad deserved to be Alpha, and now that Colin and Jackson were gone, the pack would need someone genuine and willing to do everything required. I was proud of him, and I was the luckiest woman in the world to say I was Kaleem Mikaelson’s mate.

“Is it over?” I asked while Kaleem carried me through the disarray towards the packhouse.

“It’s over,” he answered while kissing my temple. “It’s finally over.”
