“Okay.” Grabbing her mug and taking a sip of tea, Georgie said, “I’m hoping you can help me with something else.”

“What’s that?”

“A nice place to have dinner.”

“Well, the pub does a great parma, and —” She stopped when Georgie shook her head.

“Um, no. Somewhere more…” Georgie waved her hand, not sure how to describe what she wanted without it sounding overly romantic.

Juniper’s eyes widened. “Oh, I see. Well, there’s a gorgeous restaurant in Gypsy Point. Their steak is to die for and they make a great Guinness. I’ll get you the details.”

“Thank you.”

“I’m liking this development.”

Georgie laughed a little nervously. She wasn’t exactly sure what this development was, but maybe she liked it too.

“Did you know I’m friends with Ryan?” Billy said, startling Georgie. Had he known who they were talking about?

“Ah no, I didn’t.”

“He’s got a special football in his car, he said it’s garlic. He showed me how to use it.”

Georgie frowned in confusion. “He means Gaelic,” Juniper explained, making Georgie laugh.

“His colors are very beautiful.”

“Are they?” She’d heard a little bit about Billy’s ability to read auras, but this was her first time experiencing them first-hand.

“Yes. They shine a lot. And I like the way he talks.” He looked directly at Georgie then and said, “Your colors are better now.”

“Thank you. I feel better now.”

“The spuds will be ready,” Juniper said, once it was apparent that Billy wasn’t going to go any further with his observations. “You’ll have to do the next step in batches. I don’t have a frypan big enough for that many potatoes.”

Georgie transferred a batch of potatoes to a frypan while Juniper made Billy the vegemite sandwich he remembered he wanted. Once Billy was settled at the bench and Georgie was moving the potatoes around the pan under Juniper’s watchful eye, she said, “So, a date, huh?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

“Nice.”

Georgie shrugged, not looking at Juniper.

“Not nice?” Juniper asked, amused.

“I don’t know. I mean, yes, of course it’s nice.”

“But?”

“I think I want…more.”

“Excellent!” When Georgie didn’t say anything further, Juniper said, “Whatever you’re worried about, stop.”

Georgie sighed. “I can’t seem to stop overthinking it.”

“Talk to Ryan about it, then. Whatever is troubling you. Just tell him.”

“Maybe.”
