“She will be. God, Cam, we’re just moving in together. I don’t know why I’m making such a big deal out of it.”

“You don’t want to leave Hannah and Annie in the lurch.”

“No, I really don’t.”

“Hey, Emerson!” Hannah called out. “Come on!”

They rejoined the group, took their hot dogs and Emilia was about to head towards the stands when she realized no one else was moving. She looked at her friends.

“What? Have I got something on my face?”

“No,” Maya said. “Apart from a guilty look, you don’t have anything on your face. What’s going on?”

Emilia looked to Cam, who nodded, his calm presence steadying her. Honestly, she was being ridiculous. “Okay. Fine. Cam and I want to move in together.”

“So what’s stopping you?” Hannah asked, taking a bite of her hot dog.

“We don’t have anyone to move in. Everyone’s settled in their places. You want to live with a stranger? Or hike up your rent?”

“Well, no, but that’s not your responsibility, is it?”

“I’m not settled in my place,” Maya said suddenly. “I’m kind of lonely, to be honest. It’d be great to come home to people after spending all day with wild animals.”

“You want to move in?” Annie said casually, but Emilia could tell she was still distracted.

“Yep,” Maya said just as casually and all seven pairs of eyes turned on Emilia. “So what’s the problem again?” Maya smiled.

“Well… I guess—I guess there isn’t one.” She turned to Cam and grinned as everyone collectively shrugged and went into the stands to find their seats.

“So, we’re doing this, then,” Emilia said, moving into his arms.

“Looks like.”

“I have a LOT of stuff. Do you know any hunky movers?”

She rested her head on his shoulder as his laugh rang out. Emilia had always doubted that true love would be for her. But now she was deliriously happy, and finally felt like her life was moving forward.

She was a bit nervous, the change had come suddenly. But she knew with Cam by her side, she could conquer anything.
