“Sir. We need to speak to Miss Shepherd alone.”
Her body shakes. Letting her go is the last thing I want to do. Does she fucking look like she’s resisting? I glance down and her body is pinned against mine. Yeah, it’s a toss-up. I could see how they’d be concerned.
“They’re just going to make sure you’re safe,” I say to the top of her head and leave a kiss. Then I face my friend. “Let’s go, Elijah.”
Officer Greer separates us in the hallway and blocks the door.
I count my breaths to convince myself that eternity doesn’t actually pass. Then the door opens and Madison rushes to me. I’m closer, but let it swell my ego.
Elijah joins us, and in the background, the officers thank us and leave.
Nothing else matters besides having Madison in our arms. “You okay?”
“That was embarrassing. His son is going to be in my class.”
I wish she was kidding. He asked her to get the classroom cleaned up before the kids show up. We promise to help. For now, we get her home where we can have more privacy.
There’s a brief debate about who’s home we’ll go to but ultimately decide on Jayce’s since I drove, which means less shuffling, and we can easily drop Madison’s car at her house.

Elijahinsistssheridewith him and I drive her car. How can such a short time away from her weigh so heavily?
They have to wait for me at my door while I park her car at her house. Seeing them together eagerly awaiting me does my heart good.
I wrap an arm around her waist and give her a kiss before unlocking the door.
She and Elijah are both comfortable in my home and I like having them under my roof. It’s where we belong. I’ll have to talk to them about that later.
Grabbing drinks, I meet them on the couch when she returns from the bathroom. We squeeze her in between the two of us.
“How are you doing?” I’m worried I was too rough with her, although frustratingly short-lived. Next time will be better. Elijah hadn’t lasted much longer, so I don’t feel like too much of a chump.
“I had no idea it would feel so good.”
“It will be even better next time. I promise.”
“How?”
Elijah adds, “He’s right. You threw us a curveball with the virgin thing. Next time we’ll take our time. There’s so much to teach you.”
She giggles innocently.
“Did you and Brett really never have sex?” It’s a serious question. I’d always assumed my son was sexually active…with her.
Madison ducks her head. “No.”
“It’s okay. It was wrong of me to assume. I don’t know what’s wrong with that boy.”
Elijah strokes Madison’s arm. “His loss is our gain.”
“I’ll say. I tried to deny my feeling for you for years, Madison. When you left for college, I hoped that would finally be my chance to escape the spell you had on me, but I woke up with my cock in my hand far too many times.”
She drags a finger over my lengthening dick. “Really?”
I angle her face up so I can kiss her plump lips. “Almost every night. And when I held you in my hands for those brief seconds the night you caught Brett cheating, I wasn’t sure I could let you go.”
