WHAT HAPPENED TO PIPERbrought me back to a dark time in my past. A past that I didn’t like discussing. A past that only Sunny knew about.

With Meadow’s hand in mine, we entered the large house and were greeted by the majority of the Hell’s Harlem members who lived in the surrounding area. Although, some did travel a few hours, most were local.

“Wow. This house is huge,” Meadow said, her eyes wide. “I had no idea Jaron grew up here.”

“You’ve never been here before?” I asked, a little surprised that Jaron never brought his friends over. But he was also his father’s kid and liked to stick to himself most of the time. He had those who were closest to him but even then, it was hard to earn his trust.

“No. I haven’t. I don’t even think Piper’s been here.”

When we were approached by a couple of our club brothers, Meadow inched closer to me.

“Well I have to say that this is new.”

I turned suddenly, finding Greyson coming toward us.

He nodded toward Meadow and I. “I don’t have time to threaten you if you hurt her. We have to deal with this shit first regarding my son. Meeting room. Now,” he barked, heading in the direction of the room that sat off to the side.

Sunny gave my shoulder a squeeze and joined Greyson in the room.

Greyson peeked his head out a moment later. “Come here.”

“Give me a second, okay?” I told Meadow.

“Of course.” She gave me a smile in reassurance.

While the other guys went into the room, I stayed back, waiting for Greyson to chop off my balls and feed them to me.

“Listen.” He ran a hand through his light brown hair. “I don’t know what’s going on. This isn’t what’s important right now but before her father catches wind of this, I just want to warn you, he’s a large fucker. And he comes with navy brothers. So just be careful.” He looked over his shoulder.

Sunny’s head snapped up from where he was sitting at the large table. “Both of you.”

Sunny saluted him.

“How did you know?” I asked him.

A short laugh escaped Greyson. “Because I’m not stupid and also, my son told me that my dogs were sniffing around her.” A dark shadow passed over his face. “Doesn’t matter. Listen, we need to figure out what the hell is going on and what happened tonight so I can go back and give my wife something. Anything. We need fucking answers.”

I nodded, clapping his shoulder. “We’re here for you, boss. Both of you. All of us are.”

“I know.” Greyson cupped my nape, leaned his forehead against mine, and blew out a slow breath. “I wish Butcher were here.”

My chest tightened. John Butcher had been one of the original members of Hell’s Harlem when Sunny and I were just prospects. He was a large beast of a man but had the kindest heart. I had always looked up to him, but never got a chance to tell him that when he was shot and killed during a raid at the clubhouse.

“Me too,” I murmured.

“Alright.” He gave my shoulder a squeeze before releasing me. “You joining us for the meeting?”

“I was going to show Meadow where our room is and then…” I looked at Sunny.

He nodded once.

“Sunny can fill me in,” I added.

Greyson sighed. “Fine. Usually I’d argue but I’m too damn tired to do that. Go do your thing and we’ll get this shit done and over with.”

“Greyson?”
