A white cloth was shoved in her mouth, tied at the back of her head in a knot. Her hands were bound behind her by rope that was digging into her skin.

Pulling the cloth from her lips, I kissed her softly. “I’m so fucking sorry.”

“Don’t be,” she whispered. “Just kill him. Do what you do best, baby.”

“Are you hurt?” I asked, running my fingers over a dark bruise forming on her cheek. I could only imagine what happened for her to earn this mark. A mark that I would kill Tommy for. A mark that I would replace with my loving ones.

“I’m fine, Tanner,” she insisted, staring up at me with hard eyes.He had Trigger killed, she mouthed slowly.

Rage burned through me. I kissed her again before pushing to my feet. “How the hell did you get her here before me?”

Tommy was leaning against the wall beside the door with his arms crossed under his chest. “How do you think, Tanner? I have someone within Hell’s Harlem. It seems Greyson has upped his security, so I had to pay someone really well to get in there quietly. I knew you were on your way, so I figured you wouldn’t talk unless your little Bee was here. Also, my boy knows a short cut but showed up here shorty after you did.”

My head whipped around.

“They’re fine. Everyone is fine,” Busy told me. “A little beat up but I promise, they’re alive,” she bit out through clenched teeth.

My blood pumped through me at the vicious edge in her tone. I didn’t like it but at the same time, I did. She was gentle. Kind. Not a villain. She wasn’t me.Iwas the villain. I was the monster under the bed. I was the damn anti-hero in the books who everyone loved to hate and hated to love at the same time.

“Where were you?” I asked her.

“I was in my room. Frankie…” She shook her head. “He’s a prospect and works for him.” She nodded toward Tommy.

“You took her from her bedroom?” I asked Tommy.

He grinned, scratching the scruff on his jaw. “What are you going to do, Tanner? Do you believe that your new little family is all fine and well with you being with their precious little Bumble Bee?” Tommy pushed away from the wall. “Why would they care what happened to you? You’re not wanted. You were never wanted. Not even by your own club. But they wanted me.” He punched his chest. “Me, Tanner. And I gave them everything they wanted. Money. Power. Women. Drugs. Sex. So much fucking sex, they didn’t even know what to do with all the pussy they’ve been getting.”

“One, Hell’s Harlem is not my family. We have a mutual understanding. They leave me alone. I leave them alone.” It was one thing Greyson and I had discussed privately. “Second, sheis my family,” I said, pointing at Busy. It took everything in me not to pull her into my arms and take her out of there, but I couldn’t, knowing that this shit with Tommy wouldn’t end until I got rid of him for good. “But you already knew that or else she wouldn’t be here. Isn’t that right? There’s just something I don’t quite understand though.”

“Oh?” Tommy raised a dark eyebrow. “And what’s that?”

“Why? You could have started your own chapter. You didn’t need to take over mine. If you would have come to me and told me you wanted to be president…” I realized then how stupid that sounded. Tommy never wanted to be the president of his own club. He wanted to be the president ofmine.

A slow grin spread on his face. “Lightbulb just go off?”

“What do you want? Besides all of this which you seem to have already gotten. Are you wanting more?”

Tommy rubbed his jaw. “There is something else that I want. Besides your club. Which surprisingly, was really easy to take over. And Sunny’s old lady?” He chuckled. “She didn’t even belong to him for long. Seems he was hung up on his partner the whole time. She was just a hole to be used. She actually wanted a man who would do anything to make it to the top in the club that he’s in. Sunny was a pussy. He liked being Greyson’s little bitch. They all do.”

“And yet, you don’t seem to care if these bitches as you call them, do work for you? Am I right?” This wasn’t the Tommy that I knew. He always had an air about him that made me uneasy. It was why I kept him close, so I could keep an eye on him. But he never hinted that it wasn’t enough.

“I couldn’t give a shit if they do work for me because I know that I could always find someone who will.” Tommy took a step toward me. “Do you want to know what else I want?”

“I already asked you, but you seem to be delaying your answer.” I feigned a yawn. “This is boring. How about I just take my girl and leave.”

Tommy chuckled, his eyes dropping to Busy. “You see, your dog’s death was just a treat, but I think she would be the perfect parting gift.”

Busy whimpered.

I backed up, standing directly in front of her. “You had Trigger killed. Why?”

“Why not?” Tommy shrugged. “He was old anyway. I did him a favor. It actually wasn’t my idea though. I just ordered the hit.”

“Who killed him?” I craved his death, whoever the bastard was that stabbed Trigger.

“The guy you hit with your pipe. I was surprised he showed his face.”

I made a mental note to make sure the bastard stayed down. “Why do you want Busy? She’s used up. Why would you want my sloppy seconds?” Bile rose to my throat at the vile words leaving my mouth.
