Alright, boys. It’s time to fucking play.

I jumped over the bed, landing hard on the floor with a thud. I reached under the top mattress and pulled out two pistols. Making sure the bullets were secure in the chamber, I clicked the safety off on both before pushing to my feet. I scratched my temple with the end of one of the guns, waiting for the guys to file into the room.

Greyson came into the room first. “Where the hell did you get guns? Weapons are not free for all here. We have them locked up tight in case someone like you gets your hands on them.”

I chuckled. “I have my ways.” I took a breath, aiming both guns directly at Greyson. “You’re going to let me leave. Aren’t you?”

“You came here, asking for my fucking help, Tanner. I should have killed you when I had the chance. What the hell are youdoing?” He rose a hand when Catch came in with a gun aimed directly at me. “Tell me what you want.”

“Busy,” I barked.

Catch muttered a curse.

“You asked what I wanted,” I reminded Greyson. “I want her to come in here.”

“Fuck.” Greyson stepped aside and nodded to Catch.

He moved, still keeping his gun aimed at me.

Busy peeked into the room. “Tanner, you…I don’t know what’s going on right now,” she said, her voice strained.

“I need you to come here and get something out of my pocket,” I told her.

“No,” Tray argued.

“Trust me, old man. I don’t want to hurt your daughter. As much as you all think I’m a monster, Iamactually in love with her. She’s the only good thing in my life, so I’m not about to fuck that up.”

“That’s just it.” Tray’s brows narrowed. “I don’t fucking trust you.”

“But I do.” Busy pushed past her father and came into the room. “Which pocket?” she asked, closing the distance between us.

“Right one.”

She reached into the pocket of my jeans and pulled out a gold ring along with a piece of paper. She held up the ring between her fingers. “It’s pretty but I don’t know what you want me to do with it.”

“There’s numbers engraved on the inside of it. It’s an account number. The bank information is on the piece of paper,” I explained. “Everything in it, is yours.”

Her head snapped up. “Really? Why?”

“You know why, Busy.”

She looked away, chewed her bottom lip, and slipped the ring onto her middle finger.

I wasn’t stupid but I was observant. Especially when it came to her. We had only been sleeping together for just over a month. Long enough for things to happen and for her to miss her period. I saw the pregnancy test in the garbage. It wasn’t like we had been safe at all, so I had a feeling that our first time together had gotten her pregnant.

My baby was inside her little body and because of that, what was mine, was hers. I never wanted the money anyway. It was just sitting there.

“I was waiting until we could go to the doctor’s to confirm,” she whispered.

“I figured as much.” I bent at the waist and placed a soft peck on her cheek, not giving a shit that we were being watched. “They won’t have to confirm anything though. I know my baby is in this tight little body,” I said, low enough for only her to hear.

Her breath hitched.

We would talk about it later. I had questions that I needed answers to first and then I could spend the rest of my life with the woman I loved.

I wrapped an arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head. Even though I could feel the bodies shift that were standing in the doorway to the room, they could wait. “You trust me?”

She nodded, her eyes searching my face. “With my life.”
