Page 34 of Hidden Lies

I’m looking out the window and I notice his family’s driver is taking us to the airport. My head whips to him and he smiles. “You’re taking me somewhere on a plane.”

He laces his fingers through mine and raises my hand, placing a soft kiss that makes my panties melt. “You are on the right track.”

My teeth pull at my bottom lip in excitement like a little kid going to Disneyland for the first time.

“We are about to pull up, Mr. Montgomery.”

“Thank you, Travis.”

The black Phantom pulls up to the private airport and the driver settles our luggage.

Mason guides me to the giant private plane and once we are seated, the flight attendant eyes Mason appreciatively.

“Hello, Mr. Montgomery,” she says in a sultry voice, making it obvious she finds him attractive with the way she sways her hips down the aisle in her tight uniform. She didn’t even acknowledge my presence. I shouldn’t be jealous; we aren’t together or anything. I can’t help myself but be pissed off.

I roll my eyes and drop my head, beginning to scroll through my phone, trying to calm myself down and not kill her where she stands.

Mason sits across from me and notices I don’t look up when he asks, “Is everything okay, Lucy?”

“Yup,” I answer.

The flight attendant returns and I look up and watch as she leans close, trying to give him a glimpse of her small breasts pushed up in her uniform, placing a cup of refreshments on the small table. He stiffens and he watches me avert my gaze and go back to my phone.

“Get out!” he roars.

My head snaps up and I jolt, dropping my phone. The woman stumbles back in shock at Mason’s outburst. “Mason,” I call out, but he doesn’t answer me.

“Get the fuck out,” he repeats.

The copilot comes out of the cockpit with his brows raised. “Mr. Montgomery, is everything all right?”

“Get this bitch off my plane.” He points at her, his lip curling in a snarl.

“Right away, sir.”

The copilot motions for her to leave but she is still stunned, and she looks at me and then at Mason.

Mason stands and gets in her face, his hands balled up into fists. “You come on my plane and disrespect my girl? Apologize to her.”

She looks at me while I retrieve my phone from the floor. “I-I’m sorry,” she stammers and quickly exits the plane, shaking.

Mason straightens his black T-shirt and sits back in his seat. “C’mere,” he says, motioning me over with a wave of his hand.

I stand and sit next to him. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t paying attention when she walked in. I was making sure you were comfortable, but when you wouldn’t look up at me when she came by, I realized what she was doing. Forgive me, preciosa. I hope it doesn’t ruin the surprise I have for you.”

I giggle. “It’s okay, big guy. You scared me when you screamed at her.”

If he only knew the thoughts that were swirling in my head. I wanted to slit her throat and throw her off the plane, but years of self-control played in my favor. When Mason gets angry, his face transforms into a demon that has you shaking in fear.

When another person by the name of James boards the plane to assist us on our flight, I buckle up. The pilot announces our destination and our eyes lock.

“You remembered,” I say softly, my throat filling with emotion.

“Always.”

Guilt creeps up my spine for some reason. It’s not that I moved on and slept with someone else because I’m sure Mason has had his fair share since we slept together, and we were never a couple. It is who I slept with that I worry about.

“Are you okay?”
