We walk inside and as we pass through the crowd, I hear murmurs from the people sipping beer from red Solo cups. Some guys are not shy.

“Damn, you’re fine,” one of them whispers.

“Maybe later you can show me the rest of your tats, gorgeous,” another says.

We finally reach the kitchen, where there are rows of liquor bottles set up on the counter. Beer kegs line the other side of the kitchen. I spot a cooler filled to the brim with ice and loaded with wine coolers. Khalani grabs two and hands me one. I twist the cap and smile at the sound of me and Khalani tossing our bottle caps and them hitting together at the same time when they hit the trash bin.

“Ready,” she says with a smirk.

“Hell yes,” I say with excitement.

We head toward the DJ so Khalani can hand him the mix she worked on for the party. As we make our way through the throng of people, they stop and stare as soon as they recognize Khalani Sincere. TheChicana that Spinsas she is known on social media for her mixes.

The DJ, with brown hair and piercings, smiles and greets Khalani and me with a hint of nervousness. I can tell he is anxious about interacting with Aiden’s wife and twin sister. Everyone is cautious with the four Kings. They run everything and can do basically whatever they want and are extremely protective of what they consider their own.

My eyes scan the crowd waiting for the music to fill the room, and I spot the four Kings next to a pool table in the dim lighting of the enormous living area. There are so many bodies inside the frat house, it is almost stifling. The place smells of weed, sweat, and cologne.

The DJ looks over at me and winks while Khalani sets up. She’s doing this so I can dance to a song she mixed called “Dreams” by David Guetta.

When I look back over to the living area, I see the guys leaning against the wall. Leo is talking to some blonde chick with a low-cut shirt and big tits. Colton is busy talking with Mase while his gaze is trained on me. My stomach swarms with butterflies when Mase spots me looking at him. His arms bulge from his T-shirt, and every time he takes a sip of his beer, his tattoos move up and down his throat. He has almost as much ink as Aiden.

When my eyes flick to Aiden, he is watching the DJ. Knowing my brother, he is waiting for the poor guy to slip and get too close to his wife so he can kill him and dump him somewhere.

My gaze moves back to Colton and Mase. Mase still has his gaze locked on me as Colton talks to him. He knows I can see him watching me, but he doesn’t flinch, and he doesn’t smile.

“Hey there, gorgeous,” a voice says to my left.

My head turns and I find a tall, attractive guy with brown eyes, a straight nose, and a killer smile directed right at me. I check over my shoulder to see if he’s talking to me or someone else, but everyone is engrossed in a conversation.

“I was talking to you,” he says, still smiling. “My name is Gabe Kitsch. Are you a freshman?”

I give him a grin because he seems nice, and I’m not used to having guys talk to me without being spooked by the four Kings.

“Hey, I’m—”

“I know who you are, Lucy Sincere,” he interrupts me.

I don’t know who this guy is, but he knows my first and last name.

“I’m a junior,” he says. “I know your brother and his friends. We’ve hung out a couple of times when they came to the frat. I’m on the swim team and part of Sigma Phi.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. I’ve never heard of you. It surprises me you know who I am.”

He leans closer and gives me a playful smirk. “I’m going to let you on in a little secret. Everyone knows who you are. I just wanted to be the first.”

“The first to what?”

“To ask you out, of course. I asked your brother, and he said it was cool… if you agree.”

I take a sip of my drink. “Agree to what?”

I know he means if I agree to go out with him, but he seems so sure I will say yes. He thinks because he got the okay from Aiden and he’s attractive, I’m supposed to fall at his feet. The way his gray shirt molds to his frame, you can tell the man is ripped, and he has an arrogance that reminds me of the guys.

When I stay silent, sipping my wine cooler, he realizes I am not falling for his charm and cocky assertiveness.

The cheer squad makes their appearance, and my head whips back to Khalani. “Almost done, sis,” she says as she notices the cheer squad and rolls her eyes.

“You don’t like the cheer squad?” Gabe asks, still standing to my left.
