Lucy tilts her head and watches as she grins. “Let him go, love,” she tells me. I release him and he lies back on the couch. She nods to Alex and says, “Alex, clear the gun.”
The click of the gun being cleared is the only sound in the room as everyone watches patiently.
“Leave,” she tells Julio.
He nods and scrambles to his feet like he has fire on his ass out the front door.

“I understand, but you two can’t kill everyone that looks at me.”
“He is lucky we let him live. If not for you, I was ready to get rid of him,” Alex says.
“Let’s get to the hotel,” I order.

Chapter Forty-Three
Lucy
We enter the hotel room, we were able to get three rooms with two queen beds for the eight of us. We are settling in the room, tired from the long drive and the threat on my head. Mase is like a loose cannon getting possessive over me. He is tense and I can understand. He says he doesn’t want to lose me, and I assure him that everything will be fine.
I’m getting out of the shower with a fluffy white towel wrapped around my body. The hotel is well equipped with luxury bedding and an open concept. Soft gray carpet on the floors and modern wood furniture and two queen beds. I’m the last to take a shower. Linda took her sleeping pill and is in the next room fast asleep. Khalani and I checked up on her before taking a shower. All the guys have showered and are relaxing for tomorrow.
I peek my head out the door to see if Alex and Leo have left the room. They were talking when I went in, but I see no one is in the room now. I pad my way back and quickly retrieve my bag and get dressed in the bathroom in case they come back inside the room. Once I am dressed, I open the door and still see no sign of the guys.
Walking to the nightstand where I left my phone charging next to Mase’s phone, I notice his phone is gone. Quickly dialing his number, it goes straight to voice mail. I try Alex’s number and he picks up.
“Hello.”
“Hey,” he says in a clipped voice.
“Where are you guys and where is Mase?”
“He had to step out. I’m downstairs.”
My stomach fills with dread. It means he is watching the entrance to the hotel. Mase left to go somewhere and I’m sure it was to do something bad. Very bad. My hand begins to shake because if something happens to Mase, I won’t survive it.
“Alex?”
“Yes, hermosa.”
“Did he…” I trail off.
“You know he did. Don’t worry, everything is fine. Aiden and Khalani are there. Colton and Leo are with him.”
A tear slides down my cheek. I’m worried about them. It is only the three of them. What if something happens and it’s all my fault. I should have taken them all out and they would have never known it was me, but I had no choice. I had to save Alex.
“Why?” I croak.
“Because he loves you and he can’t risk losing you. Everything is going to be OK. He will be back. He told me to watch over you, and you know I would never let anything happen to you.”
“Okay.” I sniff. “Alex?”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah?”
