“Angel, you don’t need to worry about me. I’ve got myself out of worse situations than this before.”

The woman on the other side of the door knocks again.

“Tonight, yeah? Me and you.”

“Yeah. I’ll make it happen.”

“I love you,” I say in a rush again before dropping a kiss on the end of her nose and slipping into one of the toilet cubicles.

Calli blows out a long breath before her heels clack against the tiled floor and water runs.

The seconds feel like hours before she finally walks to the door and pulls it open.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. I have no idea what happened,” she says, sounding more than convincing. Little minx.

The woman who was waiting says something in response, but I’m too busy reliving our few moments in here together to focus.

It’s just a shame that doesn’t continue and I’m not able to block out the sound of her taking a piss in the cubicle beside me before she lets out the most unladylike fart I’ve ever heard in my life.

Who said life in the mafia was meant to be glamorous?

It seems to take forever for her to leave, and just when I think I’m free to bolt, two more women enter.

Fuck my life.

It’s a good job Calli’s worth every second of this.

Thankfully, when I do finally make it back to the table, the desserts are just being passed out and Nico and Theo are deep in conversation.

“Have fun?” Isla asks, looking stupidly smug despite the fact that she wasn’t just the one hooking up in the toilets.

“Do you have to be enjoying this quite so much?” I ask, turning to look at her the second my arse hits the chair.

“Oh shit,” she gasps, reaching out to rub at my lips. “It’s not really your colour. You’re more of a deep purple, I think.”

“I’ll remember that next time,” I deadpan.

A cheesecake with some fancy sugar cage thing on the top is placed in front of me, and after studying it for a second, I risk a glance up at Cal.

Her cheeks are pink and her lips are swollen from my kiss.

And I’m fucking hard again.

Alex smirks at me as I tug at my trousers, as if he can see exactly what I’m doing beneath the table.

Needing a distraction that’s going to sink my boner, I look back at Nico and Theo.

“What’s going on?” I ask, the seriousness of their conversation making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

“The ants have found the honey,” Nico replies cryptically, earning himself an eye-roll from Stella.

As far as I know, none of the girls are aware of what’s actually happening, but none of them are stupid and they have to suspect something.

“All to plan?” I ask, my skin continuing to prickle.

“Yep. What else did you expect, man? You need to have some fucking faith. Bottoms up, boys,” he calls, lifting his glass of whisky from the table. “It’s a fucking good night to be Greek.”

Calli’s stare burns into the side of my face, and when I turn back, I find fear in her light blue eyes.

She knows.

And she feels it too.
