I don’t turn, there is no need, I’ll never forget the place where we first kissed. There is a tiny green star embedded in the marble, our special spot immortalized forever. “I knew I was in trouble the moment your lips met mine.”

“My heart has never recovered,” her voice hitches, “I love what we’ve built together Hunter. All of it. You have been the perfect partner. We’ve come so far and have so much more ahead of us.”

“Together,” I say slipping my hand into hers. “Both of us were so used to striking out on our own but doing things together is the secret power we’ve discovered. With you by my side I know we can accomplish anything.” I take a deep inhale. “I love you, Catherine.”

Her eyelashes flutter with excitement, “I love you too.” I lean into her, our lips meeting. We are in the lobby of the Legendary Hall, surrounded by friends, family and the community. But none of these registers, for when Catherine is in my arms, nothing else matters.

She tips her chin up and I plant kisses down her throat before returning to her magnificent lips. There are a hundred things we should be doing right now but all we want to do is to enjoy this moment.

When the cheers and whups of approval of our friends and family fill our ears, we double down on our PDA showcase. My kiss is filled with a hunger that I hope she can read. I’m never letting go.

I may have been a kind stranger that she roped into a fake romance but I’m here to stay. What we have is real. She’s told me over and over that I’m the right guy. The same holds true for me – she’s the right girl for me.

Today is our day. It’s the right time.

The End
