Chapter 10 Taming Aria Wolfe

Nick

“Like I keep saying I don’t know him as Nick,” Tracy said still holding my neck in her hugging position, “This is Parker, we dated sometime back in high school.”

“And like I keep saying you’re choking me,” I said as I tried to free myself from her deathlike grip, “I seriously think you’re mistaken.”

“I think so too,” Aria said as she stepped in to separate Tracy from me.

“Is that so?” Tracy asked and turned to me, a smile formed on her face, “I’ll admit, he does look different from what I remember. Almost blindingly beautiful too.”

She licked her lips at the last sentence and her entire body seemed to shiver. Real creepy shit right there.

“Well, my mistake then,” she said as she let me go, “Sorry about that newbie.”

“No problem,” I rubbed my neck, “Thank you.”

“The name’s Tracy King,” she pointed at herself as she said her name, “You are on my desk.”

“Only for a minute or so,” Aria said. “He’s my personal assistant and I was talking with mother, so he had to step out.”

“I don’t mind having him around though,” Tracy said as she combed her hair with her fingers, “he’s definitely easy on the eyes.”

“Umm, pardon me asking but what’s your role here?” I asked.

“Head of Graphics and Media,” she replied, “I hear Michael’s been taking care of things while I was away but I basically run this shit.”

“I run this shit,” Aria said with a smirk.

“I know boss,” Tracy returned the smirk and held Aria’s waist and brought her closer to herself, “You’re not looking so bad yourself Aria, what’s the secret? Don’t tell me you’ve been keeping your bad self pretty for little old me?”

“Oh, Tracy not in front of my mom,” Aria said playfully as she covered her cheeks faking a blush.

“Gah!” Tracy exclaimed as she turned to Aria’s mother, “Greetings Mama Wolfe.” “Greetings Tracy,” Mrs.Wolfe replied, “Energetic as usual I see.” “Eh, I can’t help it,” Tracy said.

“Well I’m done with my business here so I guess I can get going,” Mrs Wolfe said, “Would the kind gentleman be willing to escort me?”

“Me?” I pointed to myself, “I’m not sure…”

“Pretty please?” she pleaded, “I seemed to have twisted my ankle.”

“If that’s the case, I’ll help ma’am,” Michael offered but was met with a fist to the stomach causing him to keel over.

“Oops, looks like Michael isn’t feeling so good,” Mrs Wolfe said, “Nick would you be a darling and walk with me?”

I would have refused but looking at Michael writhing in pain made me rethink.

“Thank you so much for this,” she said as we left the building, “I’ll be out of your hair once I get a cab.”

“You don’t have to thank me ma’am,” I said.

“Eh? Why call me ma’am? Go back to the Miss,” she said in a pouting tone, “I liked that better.”

“But you’re…”

The smile on her face for some odd reason made me stop.

“So… um Miss?”
