I shake my head. “Honestly I don’t know, but my gut tells me she doesn’t.”
Kate falls silent and the air thickens with tension. For the past week we’ve been concentrating on today’s fight, using it as a way to distract ourselves whilst waiting for more news. We know where Pink and Camden’s mum are, and despite that, they’re still held captive and I’m getting sick of waiting for the King to make his next move. I’ve never been one to sit back and wait for the fight to come to me.
“Cal, Hud, Grim, they’re doing everything they can, Asia,” Sonny says.
I know that he believes in them, but chances are by the time they figure out how to get Pink and Camden’s mum out, they’ll already be dead.
“I know they are, but…”
“…But it’s not enough,” Camden finishes for me.
We all look at one another, feeling the exact same way. A storm is coming, one that is going to devastate us all.
