“Hey gorgeous, you look like you want to fuck someone into the bed,” Cyrus said cooly as he turned his sweet grin on Jaygen.

His voice wrapped around Ozni, drawing him in. All the mental defenses in the world crumbled when it came to Cyrus’s power. Incubi had the ability to draw on a person’s sexual desires and wants. And Cyrus was a master at it.

It always confused Ozni that Cyrus didn’t work at brothels where he would be fed more often and have his pick of meals. Instead, he worked at the host bar where sex was not only not required, but where it rarely happened. They provided a different type of need for people. The need to feel wanted and live out a fantasy.

Jaygen relaxed further and reached out to Cyrus, threading his fingers through his black shoulder-length hair. Cyrus’s eyes went wide as Jaygen tightened his grip and tugged. Ozni probably should have warned Cyrus that Jaygen was on edge, but it was too late now.

“Watch it, Cyrus. I might give you more than you’re asking for,” Jaygen clipped out.

Cyrus licked his lips like the tease he was. His eyes glanced over to Ozni and Foi and desire swam in the dark pools of his eyes. But Jaygen let him go and returned to relaxing against his seat. Cyrus was unfazed by it all. He winked at Ozni and just like that the hold Cyrus had on him eased and Ozni was once again able to put the mental brick wall back up.

“Oz, do you want to play with me?” Cyrus teased.

As alluring as Cyrus was, Ozni wasn’t willing to be a one time deal. He had no desire for sex alone. Ozni craved the connection as well, but the chances of that happening were slim. Even amongst the supernatural, he was a rarity, one that was considered deadly and unwelcomed. Ozni knew nothing could happen between them, but he could give Cyrus the flirting attention he craved.

He smiled at Cyrus and leaned over Jaygen before he pushed some of Cyrus’s soft hair behind his ear. He let his fingers run along Cyrus’s jaw and his touch lingered for a bit longer than necessary before he pulled away.

“Fuck, Oz, you’re such a tease,” Cyrus grumbled.

Cyrus knew he wasn’t getting more from Ozni and leaned further, glancing at Foi who watched him intently like the predator he was. Cyrus smirked and before he could stand and make his way to the werewolf, the kitchen started to fill with the other hosts, even the ones who didn’t live at Paranormal Guilty Delights.

Besides the four of them, there were eight other hosts. There were three women, two non-binary workers, and three more men. There were a variety of people, because Arden always said there was a host for every client’s fantasy.

Jane was a witch who specialized in ice, the sisters Noel and Casey both were half pixies, their glittery wings fluttering behind them. It didn’t escape Ozni’s watch as they glared at him with disdain. He knew why they did it but it didn’t stop him from remembering what pixie flesh tasted like. It was sweeter than most, he imagined it’s what fruit tasted like. Oz hadn’t eaten in so long his memory was no doubt faulty, but that was what came to mind.

Jaygen and Foi both growled and the sisters turned away from them. It was always like that. Right behind them were Jordan and Grayden - gargoyles. Alexi was one of the last. He was a witch specialising in illusions. By all rights he should be the number one host at PGD but Alexi was a bit on the lazy side.

Ian ran in as if their ass was on fire and nearly tripped. Ozni moved fast and caught them before they fell face first onto the hard floor. The selkie was clumsy and a bit ditsy.

“Shit than—” The thank you died the moment Ian glanced up and saw it was Ozni helping them.

The stench of fear had Ozni letting them go and taking his seat once more. He looked away as Ian hurriedly moved away from him. It was always like that. Only Foi, Jaygen, Cyrus, and Arden didn’t fear Ozni.

The last to arrive was no surprise, Blake. They were a panther shifter but lately they’d been calling off of work. Ozni was sure they would be leaving the bar soon.

Arden strutted into the room. His presence was commanding as ever as he looked around at everyone. He was an alpha dragon and could easily be running Silvercross City with his status alone but he instead took charge of a bunch of lost and broken supernaturals and now, one human.

“I was in the middle of a good workout,” Foi complained.

“And you can get back to it soon,” Arden said, his voice gruff as usual.“I am sure some of you have seen or smelled our newest host.”

“Yeah, what the hell Arden, a human?” Casey grumbled.

“We can flirt with them as customers but inviting them to stay here? You didn’t ask any of us. It’s not enough we have to be on constant alert with a daywalker around, now we have to watch out for some damn human,” Noel grumbled.

“A human seems rash. There are plenty of cities where they can go and get help,” Jordan said.

A few of the other hosts nodded in agreement. Ozni saw no reason to get upset about the human. Yes, it was like placing a rabbit in a cage full of wolves but Arden knew what he was doing and if the human needed a place to stay why not let it be at PGD?

Arden’s face showed nothing as he listened to everyone's complaints, before he spoke and set everyone straight. “If you have a problem with how I run my business and who works for me, be my guest and get the fuck out,” he growled.

That shut everyone up, their complaints going ignored. If it was up to any of them, Ozni would also be out on the street and Cyrus would have been turned away and sent to a brothel. Foi would have been turned over to one of the local packs and killed. Each one of them liked to think their broken souls weren’t nearly as bad, but Arden had picked most of them up for a reason. And yet they still complained.

Of course, they were all free to leave whenever they felt it was their time, but to go without a plan seemed counter productive. Arden was the only one who was giving housing and work without the need to sell their bodies. It was a haven, and they knew it.

“He is a fellow employee, which means you will not cast spells on him, eat him, drain him, or hurt him in any way,” Arden said.

The room was eerily silent for what felt like forever. Arden’s stern gaze met each of theirs, cementing the severity in his words. Ozni would avoid the human at all cost. He couldn’t be tempted to eat what he couldn’t see.Solid plan.
