Spooky frowned. "That's terrible. Is that why there were so many empty houses on the way here?'

"That's..." Ezra sighed. "That's a long and bloody story. War has its casualties and we suffered a lot." He looked up at Arden. "It's over now, but things were rough for a while."

"Do not blame me," Arden growled. "If you go there-"

"I'm not," Ezra sighed. "Let's not get into this. You just got home." He laid a hand on Arden's back. "I missed you, brother."

Arden's shoulders relaxed. "I missed you too."

Spooky smiled at them. They really were brothers, the way they were down each other's throats one moment and back to being nice the next. It was wild seeing Arden in a new environment and Spooky wanted to soak in every second.

"There you are."

A woman descended the stairs that stole Spooky's breath away. Her smooth, brown skin seemed to glisten in the overhead lights. The dress she wore was aquamarine and it hugged every curve tightly. But she still walked as if she was gliding. The white hair on top of her head was a beautiful puff of white and it contrasted her skin perfectly.

"She's hot," Spooky said.

Stunned silence filled the entryway. Spooky glanced around. Gamble stared at him as if he was insane, Micha had slapped his hand over his mouth, Bash and Arden both shook their heads and Eldon chewed his bottom lip.Was that weird? Shit.

Laughter burst out of the woman's lips and she smiled at Spooky. "Why thank you," she said as she walked forward and held out a hand toward him. "I like you already," she said with a wink. "What's your name?"

"Spooky."

She raised a brow. "Spooky? That's unique."

"An old friend gave it to me," he rushed out as he pumped his hand up and down in hers. "And my new witch hasn't changed it."

"Wait? What?" Micha asked.

"Yo," Gamble waved a hand, a grin on his lips. "I like his name."

“Not like he’d be able to remember a new one anyway,” Bash grumbled.

Gamble blinked at Bash. “And you are?”

“I will wring your neck!” the bear growled.

“Okay, okay,” Arden cut in, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Enough you two.”

"See," Spooky jerked a thumb toward Gamble, ignoring their arguing. "He likes it. What's your name?"

Her chuckle was like silk. "Anaya," she said. "Queen Anaya Cirillo."

"So do we call you your majesty or..."

"No," she laughed. "Anaya is fine."

Arden leaned down and whispered into Spooky's ear. "Release my mother."

"Oh! Right, yeah." He pulled his hand away, his cheeks turning pink. "Sorry."

"It's alright," she said as she smiled at him. "I'm sure there's a lot you all want to know."

"Yes!" Spooky spoke up. "Was Arden always so growly? What was he like when he was a kid? Has he had a boyfriend before?'

"No, he used to be a sweetheart when he was younger, but he was always very serious. When he was a kid he was adventurous, kind, and curious. He loved to see how things worked. And as for a boyfriend, yes. He's had a few partners here and there. The last girl he saw was quite lovely."

Spooky's mouth hung open. "Arden dated girls?"
