Tonight was Alice in Wonderland. That meant the decorator still had to come in and work his magic, he needed to be sure everyone knew their roles, and they would take a promo photo to be posted on their website. The life of a business owner was non-stop, but Arden kind of liked that. The less time he had to think, the better.

Arden focused back on his tablet. There was a list of host names and assignments that would need to be doled out. He looked at the list for a while longer before he knew who was going to play what tonight.

"Eldon, gather the rest of the hosts."

"No problem. I'll be right back."

"Make it quick," Arden called as he walked to the side door and pulled it open. Haven stepped through in his tall heels and colorful pastel colors. "Haven."

"Arden!" he exclaimed, leaning forward and kissing Arden's cheeks one after the other. "Your place is as beautiful as always, but I am here to make it magical. I can't believe you're only having this theme available for one night. It’s a travesty."

"Scarcity creates demand," Arden pointed out before he stepped out of the way and let Haven's crew in. "How long will it take you to get everything done?"

Haven waved a hand at him. "You can't rush perfection, but don't worry. I can have it done before tonight's shift." He looked around the room and smiled. "Let's move!"

Arden shook his head and walked away from Haven. The best thing to do was to let the man work because god help anyone that got in his way when he was "creating" as he called it.

"They're waiting for you in the kitchen.”

Arden jumped as Eldon suddenly appeared. "Goddamnit. Say something when you're further away," he said, jerking his elbow away from the vampire. "I hate that."

"Sorry." The vampire smiled. "I thought your super elite dragon senses would know I was coming."

Before Arden could say anything the vampire was gone. He growled. Normally, he could deal with vampires too and he knew when they were coming. But not Eldon. Something about the man flew right under his radar. Arden couldn't put his finger on it.Maybe because he feels safe?

He walked upstairs and looked over all of the gathered hosts. No one missed meetings, even if they were called last minute. Thankfully, it was early enough he could catch them before they started their day.

Arden looked at them and his eyes stopped on Spooky for a moment. The man kept his gaze turned away from him and Arden wanted to walk over, grab his face, and force the kitten to look at him. Instead, he picked up his tablet and began giving out assignments.

"Tonight we're following the themeAlice in Wonderland.Since it's a special night I already have costumes and props ordered." Arden had always had a faint idea of who he wanted to be played by who, but once he saw the outfits he knew for sure what he wanted and gave them out one by one. "And as for Alice that will be played by...Micha," he said looking up at him. "It's a big role. Everyone's favorite."

Arden saw the shock on Micha’s face and hid his grin. Why is it so fun to torture him? Maybe he would get to see more of those delicious tears.

"Um, Arden, maybe someone else should do that," Micha said.

"No," he said sternly. "Youwill do it. Is that a problem?"

Micha swallowed hard and shook his head. "No."

"Good." Arden nodded to everyone else. "You're all dismissed. Outfits will be delivered to your rooms shortly."

Arden watched Micha scramble out of the room.

Need to keep an eye on that one.

The hot water rained down, soaking into Eldon’s flesh as he stood under it. He kept his eyes closed as every muscle in his body relaxed. He was mentally getting ready for theme night; it took more of him than normal PGD business. At his old host bar, they didn’t have nearly as many extravagant events.

It was easy to see how the host bar in Oxdale had been failing. It had been missing so much. Thankfully, Arden’s old crew had taken it over and he heard that it was thriving just like the one in Silvercross City.

Eldon’s shoulders tensed as he thought about the old hosts and how popular they’d been at PGD. Eldon still heard customers whine about missing Mr. Wolf or Jaygen and his perfection. It wasn’t that anyone currently at the bar couldn’t exactly reach those standards; it’s that all at once, some of the best hosts had left. Leaving a huge gap at PGD.

Arden didn’t say it out loud that he missed them, but Eldon saw in the way the man moved around lately. It was as if he was permanently in a bad mood. Eldon blew out a breath he didn’t need.

How in the hell was he supposed to get Arden to relax? He rested his head on the shower wall. Arden’s stern face came into view. Even in his imagination, the man was frowning. His silver locks always swooped back, and his perfectly groomed facial hair complemented his face. His eyebrows furrowed in that way that Eldon couldn’t help but notice and piercing amber eyes flecked with green and gold.

Eldon’s body heated the more he imagined.

Arden’s tan chest displayed the right amount of hair, and Eldon had peeped a tattoo once. He wasn’t ashamed to admit he’d attempted to catch a peek again, but Arden was like Fort Knox. The man was locked down tighter than a virgin’s asshole. But still, Eldon’s mind conjured it regardless, and his mouth watered at all the exposed flesh.
