“You and Arden’s wedding?” Micha asked. He knew it was only for the dragon kingdom but it didn’t mean they couldn’t give the two shit for it.

Mya groaned and Micha had to agree with her.

“It was only a ceremony, nothing more.” Justice laughed and pulled her mate to her and kissed Mya. “You are the only woman for me.”

“Oh darling if I weren’t, things would have turned out very differently.”

Justice snuggled up to her mate. “Well Arden and I are old war buddies and you know how that can create a bond.”

Micha’s feathers ruffled and his fist clenched at his side. He wasn’t much of a fighter even after everything that had happened but he’d gladly fight for his mate.

“I’d hate to have to rip your throat out, love,” Mya said cooly.

Micha’s eyes widened and both dragons glanced at him and burst with laughter.

“Where are you off too, shouldn't you be sleeping?” Justice asked.

Micha grinned. “I went to bed at a decent time unlike the others.” He glanced over at the balcony he loved the most. “I was just going out for a bit.”

Justice followed his line of sight and she nodded. “Have fun. Do soak up all that sunrise for me. We are headed off to bed.”

Micha nodded and headed for the balcony once more.

“Micha,” Mya called out.

He turned around.

“Be careful. Not too much.”

He’d finally been given the all clear and the first thing Micha wanted to do was stretch his wings to really take in the freedom he had. It might sound insane to most but nothing was more freeing than flying.

“I will.”

He turned and jogged down the rest of the hallway and opened the balcony doors. Cool morning air washed over him. He had to admit the atmosphere in Havenwood was far better than the smog in the city. The nephilim felt closer to nature here. He of course missed PGD but Arden promised them they’d go back one day. Till then Micha was happy to be in the dragon’s kingdom.

Micha pulled his shirt off and shivered as the cool air caressed his skin. His muscles in his back were a little tight but once he stretched them they’d feel better. He moved his wings a few times, opening and closing them.

A huge grin curled his lips as he looked up at the sky. There were no clouds in the orange and purple sky. The smell of the dragon’s myths flowers wrapped around Micha and coaxed him further out.

Micha didn’t waste another second as he shoved off the ground and flapped his wings gaining momentum. He went higher and higher and even as the air thinned out Micha climbed higher.

He closed his eyes as he stopped flapping his wings and turned upside down. Air whooshed past him crashing into his face and Micha couldn’t wipe the smile off his face as he free fell from the sky.

Spreading his wings Micha caught himself on the wind and glided over the forest. A laugh bubbled up out of him as he flew around going high once more only to free fall.It was perfect.

Micha had flown maybe once or twice after being rescued from his ex but it hadn’t felt nearly as good. Maybe because he hadn’t truly been free until now.

There was nothing like wind through his feathers. Closing his eyes Micha soared through the sky circling the palace and doing more flips and tricks in the air. As the sun rose Micha let the warmth soak into him. He stayed in the air until his lungs burned and the exertion of flying started to get to him.

His back felt great and as he dove closer to the ground he flew through the maze of hedges in the back. Micha turned sideways as he stretched his hand out touching the flowers and soft petals of the bushes. The nephilim pulled up and sucked in the clean scent of nature and flowers as he twisted in the air. He waved at the people on the ground as he headed back toward the palace.

Micha landed, air sawing in and out of his lungs. He glanced back out at the sky, the sun blinding him momentarily. His heart was firmly lodged in his throat as it raced. He wondered how far he could fly now. Maybe he’d talk Arden into flying with him long distance.

He collected his shirt and slipped it over his head. Micha pulled the hair tie free as he made his way back inside. His cheeks hurt with how much he was smiling but there was nothing he could do about it. Flying was like breathing for nephilims and Micha had been holding his breath for a long time.

Slipping back into the room was easy. The guys were still sound asleep in the bed. Micha blew out a breath. He’d get a quick shower and get back in bed. He loved flying but there was nothing like being entwined with the men he loved.

Sweat coated his flesh and Micha went right for the bathroom. He stripped out of his clothes and tossed them in the hamper. As picked up Spooky’s discarded clothes, the nephilim caught sight of his back in the mirror. He turned so he could see more. There was a scar the size of Micha’s hand in the middle of his back where his wings met. The feathers at the base were forever gone. They weren’t growing back and Micha had made his peace with it.
