The sound shook the room. Spooky was sure that the hosts below would have felt that shaking and they would soon figure out it was no earthquake. But he didn't care. Spooky drowned in how good it felt to be held and fucked by the man he was wildly in love with. As Arden’s come flooded his hole, he moaned and stroked himself even if it slightly hurt because of how sensitive he was. Spooky just wanted to keep feeling as good as he did in that moment.

Finally, Arden released him and he flopped onto the bed. The man laid on his back and groaned as he pressed his forehead to Spooky's back. Smiling, Spooky's tail flicked around as he fell into Arden's heated embrace.

"Time to go," Arden said as his knot slowly deflated. "Go."

Just like that Spooky's world crashed and burned. The hope that had started building in his chest was struck down hard and he was back at square one. Lonely, empty, nothing.

"Arden..."

"No," he snapped. "I've told you a hundred times there is nothing between us. Go!"

Spooky shook his head. Hadn’t Arden just said that he belonged to the dragon? "I don't want to-"

"Go!" Arden roared.

Spooky ran.

He feltthe shift come on before he could fully stop it. Arden's eyes changed to slits, his nails lengthened into claws and scales erupted over his back. The air grew heavy as electricity bounced off of his fingers and his horns took their rightful place.

Arden roared and the host club shook.

Stop it! Get back in your damned cage!

Arden grabbed onto his bed and it ripped, the insides spilling out as he willed the monster back into its den.No, Spooky is off limits! The damn thing insisted that they were supposed to be with him, that Spooky was theirs but that couldn't be true. Not when Arden knew what he was.

He closed his eyes and drew in a long, slow breath. The more he calmed himself, the more he was able to stuff the beast back into its box. Bit by bit all of his dragon features receded and he was back to his normal self.

Slowly, he sank onto his bed and dragged his hands down his face. All he could see was Spooky; his wide eyes, the way he'd fled, the fear that had surrounded him like a shroud. He had pushed away the one person that had never been afraid of him.

But he was doing Spooky a favor. Didn’t he get that?

Arden could barely contain his rage on a good day. It had been years since he'd locked his dragon away and the blood thirst that came with it. No more wars, no more fighting, no more death. His new lot in life was to run the host club, live a normal life, and pay penance for every single soul that he'd snatched off of the Earth too soon.

He felt himself cooling down and opened his eyes. The room wasn't completely destroyed, that was a miracle. However, there was still the feeling of electricity permeating the air making the hairs on his arms stand on end. He ran a finger over his flesh and the tattoos that were etched into his skin. The biggest one that took up his left pec, the skull and roses, was the one he regretted the most.

"Arden?" He heard the rapid knocking on his door and Eldon's panicked voice. "Arden? Are you okay? What's going on?"

Sighing, he pushed himself to his feet and walked over to the door. When he wrenched it open, Eldon searched his face desperately. He licked his lips and Arden tracked the movement, the way they now glistened in the overhead lights. It took everything in him not to drag Eldon into his room and distract himself from the fact that his life was spiraling out of control.

"What happened? Did you get hurt?" Eldon asked.

"Nothing," Arden said. "Did you see Spooky?"

He shook his head. "Did something happen with Spooky?"

The vampire was going to give him a headache. Eldon was a good guy and Arden knew he was trying to help, but all those questions when he had so much on his mind was only going to push him over the edge. Arden was about to answer when he looked out into the hall and spotted the redhead he'd been introduced to the day before.

"What are you two doing?" he asked Eldon. Arden stepped out, closing his door behind him and hearing it lock shut. "And it's Bash, right?"

The man nodded. "Yeah."

"I was going to show him how you have the bar set up and walk him through security protocols again before tonight. Do you want him on security or behind the bar?"

Arden didn't want anyone behind the bar with him, but since their Alice in Wonderland night and the update on their website, their bookings had tripled. There was sure to be a lot of drinks flowing and no matter how fast he was, he couldn't fill every order on his own.

"Bar," Arden said as he stepped past them. "I can show him where things go."

Eldon caught up with him. "Arden, what was that sound earlier? Do we have to be worried?"
