Everything melted away except the heavy breathing of my prey. My fangs lengthened, and my gums ached with the overwhelming need to bury them in Bion’s neck.

My tongue darted out, wetting my bottom lip in anticipation. With a slap of my fluke, I launched myself at Bion. Only to feel Lokene’s hands catch me around my waist and yank me hard down onto his lap, my back pressed against his chest. I fought to free myself.

“Calm down.” Lokene’s voice was a commanding purr in my ear.

I wanted to obey, but the raw hunger scorching my gut and the fact that Bion was still standing had the siren struggling against Lokene’s hold. It took everything within me to not subdue Lokene and attack my prey.

Lokene’s hand sank into my hair, his fingernails brushing against my scalp. With a sudden move, he yanked my head back hard, holding me in place while using my hair to maintain control of my writhing body.

To my shock, I felt myself growing slick with another type of hunger.

The siren hissed, snapping my fangs in his face. It was a promise of what was to come the moment he loosened his grip.

I should have felt embarrassed, but I didn’t. Hunger and lust were the only two thoughts in my mind. The siren knew what she wanted, and she was just waiting for the moment she could take it.

“Stop fighting me, Soyale.” Lokene’s open mouth pressed against my throat, sucking, kissing, and fanning the wildfire inside me. Was the man crazy? I needed to be dunked in the icy waters of the Antarctic, not turned on even more.

“Zosime,” Lokene moaned against my throat.

I squirmed, feeling his hard erection dig into my butt and smiling with satisfaction when my actions drew a groan from him. Using his grip on my hair, Lokene pulled my head to the side, giving himself better access to my mouth.

“Are you hungry?” Lokene asked, his mouth brushing across my lips and his tongue darting out to taste me. “Answer me.” His fingers tightened in my hair, pulling ever so slightly.

“Yes. I’m starving.” My voice came out low and seductive, a full siren’s call.

Lokene’s chuckle was low and dark. His hips jerked hard against my backside. “Good, because I have a treat for you.”

I wasn’t sure what he meant until he tilted my head to look at Bion. In the lust of the moment, with Lokene’s mouth and hands on me, I’d temporarily forgotten my need to attack Bion.

The tiny part of my brain still thinking rationally worried that I would be unable to resist the urge to take too much blood. I wasn’t even sure if the siren planned to murder or mate him. Guess it was going to be a surprise for all of us.

Now, even through my feral haze, I recognized the raw need on Bion’s face. He wanted me almost as much as I wanted him.

My heart stuttered in my chest. Even the siren paused.

I had a reason I wasn’t supposed to bite him. Why, though? My mind spun, trying to regain some of the human emotions that would help me make rational decisions. But that part of my brain seemed to be off limits with the siren in control. I couldn’t think of a single reason I shouldn’t claim the smart-mouthed redhead in front of me.

Hungry. Eat. Make him pay. So wet.

Those thoughts pounded in my mind as loud as the call.

Lokene kissed his way down my neck, his hands sliding along my ribs to caress my aching breasts. “You want him, and you’re hungry.”

“Yes,” I growled, trying to rock my hips against Lokene’s lap. I desperately needed friction.

“Did you know Loverboy over there has been a mess since the first moment he saw you?”

This got the siren’s attention. Locking eyes with Bion, I half expected him to deny it, but he didn’t. Instead, his hand slid down to cup the large bulge in his pants. His breathing was ragged.

“You see? He hasn’t ever had the chance to experience what it’s like to mate with a siren—the sexiest woman on Earth,” Lokene whispered, his warm breath tickling my overly sensitive skin. “And I think that’s a shame. After all, it’s only fair for Cupid to get a taste of his own medicine. Don’t you think so?”

My stomach fluttered, and I pressed my hand against it and then froze. Looking down, I was stunned to see the jagged knife wound had sealed itself shut. I was weak, but I wasn’t going to die. Had Bion baited me into shifting on purpose?

The siren forced the change back to my human body, leaving me naked and on display. Bion devoured me with his eyes while the siren preened. If I’d thought she would give back control, I was wrong.

Lokene pulled just a tad more on my hair, growling low in my ear. “I know the siren is in control. So tell him, siren. Tell him what you want.”

Even through the heavy fog of need, my siren hesitated, wondering what game Lokene was playing. Was he hoping that by stirring me into a feeding frenzy, I would accidentally or not-so-accidentally attack Bion during mating? It was a dangerous game, and I wasn’t even sure if the siren had enough self-control to keep from harming Bion. Surely, Lokene wasn’t that sadistic. I narrowed my eyes at my mate. Or was he?
