CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

Daniel woke and stretched but felt something warm wrapped around him.

His fiancée.

“Mmm mmm,” she mumbled.

They were both adjusting to all the flying and time zone changes, and the fact that Hunter and Fletcher had showed up with a bottle of champagne when they’d flown in yesterday to celebrate their engagement.

In hindsight, he should’ve kept her to himself a little longer, but they’d told Kristen and Harper's mother, and he wanted to share the joyful news with his brothers.

Of course, they had loved her immediately and told her a bunch of outright lies about him. Harper had laughed while snuggled up against him on the sofa. He’d ignored the smirks from his brothers.

He’d tell his parents in a few days. For now, he wanted to use the last few days he had before returning to the office to show Harper around Manhattan and get her settled in.

“I’m going to hire you some help,” he had said.

“Help for what?” Harper had asked.

“Setting up bank accounts and all the legal stuff of moving to a new country. It’s a lot of work and having someone to take the stress off will help.”

“What if I want you to help?” she’d asked.

“Then I will,” Daniel had answered. “But I do have a business to run, and wouldn’t you rather our time together be a bit more enjoyable than paperwork?”

She had melted into his body and nodded. “Yes, but it still feels weird.”

“Welcome to money,” he’d said. “Where you get to outsource the crap in life you don’t want to do, while providing income for others.”

Harper had mulled that over, then agreed an assistant would be helpful while she adjusted to her new life in America.

They had decided to have a late summer wedding but were yet to decide on a location.

He rolled toward her, and Harper blinked her eyes open. “Good morning, Mrs. Dufort.”

“Not yet,” she replied, her voice all crackly. “I think I lost a toe last night. It’s so cold here.”

Daniel smirked. “I’d sew it back on if you did. That’s how much I love you.” Then the smile he loved appeared on her face. “Are you happy?”

She nodded. “You? Does this freak you out as much as you thought it would?”

“No,” he said, running his hand over her backside and lifting her leg over his. His hard cock rubbed against the warmth between her legs. “Coming home without you felt wrong.”

Her mouth fell open as Daniel pressed inside.

“Fuck, baby,” he groaned.

Gripping her ass, he moved rhythmically, giving Harper time to adjust to his morning greeting. She dug her fingers into his upper chest and arched into him.

“Mmphhhf, oh, god, yes, more, deeper,” she said.

He flipped them, pulling Harper under him and her legs around him. Then plunged inside her to the hilt. Her pussy clenched around him.

“Yes, yes,” Harper cried.

He loved seeing pleasure and ecstasy on the face of the woman he was going to marry. Despite what he’d already achieved in his life, making Harper happy every day was the thing Daniel was most proud of.

She was soon to be a Dufort and would be part of their dynasty. He would give her everything she wanted and more.

Daniel felt her body tremble as she began to orgasm. Daniel lifted her to him. “Fuck, I love you.”

“Oh, God, I love you,” Harper cried as his seed poured into her.

Despite everything, both of them had overcome their fear of commitment and love.

Daniel would make sure their children knew what true love looked like, because his love for Harper was unbreakable.
