Nadia Mackenzie was not a woman he wanted to spend his days or nights with.

Despite being a beautiful woman—tall, slim, with long dark hair to the middle of her back—and having an MBA from Brown, she was boring as fuck.

If this marriage did go ahead, and god he hoped it wouldn’t, Daniel was going to demand a minimum term and set of requirements he suspected Nadia wouldn’t be prepared for.

He’d make it as difficult as he could for them right to the very point, he signed his name on the marriage license.

Daniel was prepared to do it, if it meant saving Dufort Hotels, but it he’d have his own terms—terms his bride would unlikely enjoy.

There would be no sex, and Nadia would have to remain loyal to him for five years. If she was exposed as a cheater, the marriage would be void, along with the shares.

They could have the marriage, but he wasn’t fucking her. Even Mackenzie wasn’t sick enough to demand that of his daughter.

Was he?

Daniel felt his stomach turn. The asshole was capable of anything.

Across from him, the ridiculous-looking cocktail was delivered, and Harper looked up in surprise. He watched as she was informed the drink was an anonymous gift, and her mouth drop open. Then slam shut.

Oh, how Daniel wanted to slip inside that mouth of hers.

When the server disappeared, he watched Harper sit up and glance around.

The poolside bar was steady but not busy. It was the tail end of the lunch service, so people were heading to the beach, out on an afternoon tour, or to the shops. He knew this because it was his business to know the behaviors of his guests, and to capitalize on it.

By five o’clock, the bar would be packed as people lined up drinks to watch the sunset around six o’clock.

Harper's eyes darted from table to table, searching for her drink donor. She dashed past him, then those blue eyes quickly landed back on his and stopped.

Fire.

The now familiar heat flared through his body as she held his eyes from across the pool. His cock twitched in his shorts, as he imagined being deep inside her. Irritation crossed her face, but Daniel had enough experience to know she was simply trying to ignore her attraction to him.

He held back his smirk, instead lifting his glass in cheers, and taking a slow sip.

His eyes never leaving hers.

He’d been right. This was an author that needed a good fucking and Daniel was happy to volunteer a night of his time.

Soon she would be screaming his name, then after the meeting with BookFlix he’d never have to see her again.
