“I’m not sure...”

“Except lingerie shopping. If you start trying on those little things, I will fuck you in the changing rooms,” he said, whispering into her hair.

Her mouth dropped open, and she blushed.

Brightly.

The lift door closed as they made their way back up to their rooms.

“Daniel?”

He felt her discomfort and turned. She wasn’t saying no to him. He was taking her shopping and that was that. She must know he was a man who got what he wanted, and he wanted Harper.

“I don’t shop at the same places as you. I, well, obviously I’m not a billionaire.”

A different kind of blush crept over her face now. It was shame and it irritated him in a way he’d never felt before.

“Harper,” he said quietly and took her hand, pulling her against him. He stared down at her. “I’m fully aware of that. You can rest assured I am not after you for your money.”

She let out a little laugh. “Well, that’s good because I was beginning to wonder.”

He hated seeing her so ashamed.

“Just don’t go all Pretty Woman on me and I’ll be fine.” His brows bunched in confusion. “Seriously? Julia Roberts. Rodeo Drive?”

He shook his head.

“Never mind. Just keep your thingy in your pants.”

This time, his brows shot to his hairline.

“Wallet, Daniel. Your wallet.” Then she grinned. “And the other thing.”

The lift doors opened. “No promises on either of those things.” He walked her to her penthouse, swiped the card, and opened the door. “I’ll be back in twenty minutes.”

Daniel kissed her with force, then left her rubbing her lips.
