As much as a little kid did.

He shook his head.

“She doesn’t want me, or my help,” Fletcher replied, feeling pathetic as he tapped his pen on the desk, frustrated.

The room went silent.

He looked up and found his two brothers staring at each other. Both sported surprised expressions.

Finally, Hunter turned to him. “Jesus, Fletcher. You’re in love with her?”

He let out a groan.

“Yes.” He nodded, knowing there was no way he could hide it from his brothers. They all knew each other far too well. “Now get the fuck out of my office. I have work to do.”

Fletcher spent a few hours with Katy after announcing to the wider team Olivia was on extended personal leave. He’d confided the truth to Katy, asking her to keep it confidential, and preparing her for the potential media storm.

Should it happen.

In a nutshell, their response would beno comment.

All they had was one photo of him and Olivia together. Sure, it was clear they were embracing and kissing, but unless one of them spoke, there was no story. It was simply tabloid gossip.

Trying to defend yourself, in his experience, only added fuel to the fire.

He was confident Olivia would do the same.

He spent the rest of the day catching up on emails and preparing for the leadership team meeting, where he was determined to have the anti-fraternization policy overturned.

Because Olivia didn’t deserve to have her job taken from her, which, despite her resignation, was what had happened here.

She’d thought it was that or get fired.

Plus, he wanted her in his life in some capacity.

Even if it was only as his PR manager.
