She frowned.

He was right to apologize. For an employee to breach the policy was one thing, but one of the owners was quite another.

But they both knew this wasn’t him taking advantage of her because of his position of power. Both of them had given little hints of interest over the past few months and allowed their chemistry to fester.

“I don’t,” she said, meeting his eyes. “This isn’t one-sided. You know that, right?”

The air between them turned electric, the few feet between them felt a mile wide, demanding they close the gap. As much as she wanted his touch, she couldn’t let them cross the line.

Sammy was too important.

“I need you to know I haven’t done this before. With anyone,” he said.

Olivia’s lips stretched into a smile, and he let out a laugh.

“You know what I mean. With an employee. Obviously.”

“Obviously. And nothing really happened.”

“You know that’s not true.”

“Fletcher, we all know the stories about your father but you’re nothing like that. This is not like that.”

“That may be true. But Olivia, I need you to know—if you don’t already—I want you.” His eyes held hers and the fire burning between them notched up to full-on blazing.

Shit.

“God damn it.” He took a step forward then halted as if he was forcing himself. “I want to fuck you so damn much, and I don’t know how to stop wanting it.”

Her lips parted, and her pussy flooded with moisture. She wanted his hands on her. She wanted his mouth on her.

Neither was possible.

Holy hell.

“That’s not helping.” She groaned, and he took another few steps closer, so she had to tilt her head. “Oh, God.”

They stood barely breathing, his eyes running over her face, her lips, then darkening as they returned to nearly challenge her.

“Go,” he ordered, his voice thick with gravel. “Before I do something we can’t undo.”

She scooted around him and ran out the door.
