Fletcher believed it was every single person’s job to demand love and respect by setting boundaries and protecting those boundaries every single day.

Olivia had done that by leaving her abusive husband. Damn, he respected her for that. Plus, it told him she wasn’t a woman he could play with.

“You should be proud of yourself for having so much courage.” He brushed a lock of red hair off her face.

The corner of her lip lifted, cynically.

“Well, unfortunately, things didn’t go quite to plan.”

Oh?

Fletcher felt a chill run through him.

––––––––

OLIVIA CHEWED HER BOTTOMlip as her eyes darted around the room. It was a risk telling Fletcher her full story.

He may be her lover right now, but he was first and foremost her employer. If he didn’t believe her, and learned she’d been accused of having drugs in her possession and of being a drug user, she could lose her job.

It was a real possibility.

Her career was hanging by a thread right now so, regardless of the mind blowing, delicious and incredible sex they’d just had, she had to carefully consider her next move.

She fiddled with the sheet.

“Hey,” Fletch said, taking her hand. “Tell me.”

“He took Sammy from me,” she replied.

Just saying those words out loud brought up all the emotions from the past.

Tears of fury and sadness filled her eyes.

Dammit.

She didn’t want to be so emotional in front of him, but he needed to know why she couldn’t be in an open relationship with him. Not because of the anti-fraternization policy at Dufort Hotels, but because of the very real risk in her life.

While they had agreed to one time earlier, Olivia had a feeling Fletcher wanted more.

It couldn’t happen.

Despite lying beside him right now and wishing she could have more of the handsome, sexy, and incredible man, this one moment was all she could allow.

Even this was a hell of a risk.

And yet she couldn’t regret it after the heavenly orgasms he’d given her.

“What the hell? How?” Fletcher asked, his voice rising.

She shushed him, pointing to the wall, toward Sammy’s room.

“She’s just in there. Quiet,” she said.

“Sorry, but what the fuck?” He spoke more quietly.

She nodded knowingly at him.

What the fuck, all right.
