Page 80 of His End Game

I catch Leo smirking and roll my eyes.

“Rayna’s not here. She’s with your mom,” I say to break the silence.

Leaving his belt and jeans undone, he strolls toward me and cups my cheek.

“I know. It was me who asked her to come collect her this morning.”

Hold on. “She knows you’re out?”

“Everyone does. I need to wash and change. Zach and Mase are out in the car. They’re wanting to get back to their old ladies.”

“I guess they’re not happy having to wait for you?”

“It doesn’t matter, they do as I say but I don’t want to keep them any longer. I got what I needed.” He smirks.

Taking my hand, he leads us out of the kitchen and up the stairs. I barely had enough time to toss the kitchen roll in the trash.

“I thought you didn’t want to keep them waiting any longer?”

His laugh fills the bedroom and I truly believe he’s home.

“We’re not. Get washed and changed. You’re coming with me.”

I am?

I had wondered if he would change once he was released and now it’s not a concern.

He jumps in the shower, and I undress and join him, making sure not to get my hair wet. I wish we didn’t have to leave but the torture of having him so close doesn’t last long. He jumps out and dries off, walking off to his room to dress. By the time he fills my doorway, I’m ready to go and I grab my purse. After setting the alarm and locking up, we slide into the back seat, and I smile at Zach who throws me a smirk over his shoulder from up front.

“Can we go now?” Mason snaps, from behind the wheel.

“I’m not the one driving,” Leo grunts and before he finishes, Mason is peeling up the drive. I guess he’s keen to get his hands on Aspen. If he’s the same as Leo, she’s in for one hell of a reunion.

Heat pools between my legs and I inhale deeply. I can’t be getting turned on in front of Zach and Mason.

I dare to peek across at Leo, his hand resting over the middle seat, and wish he’d reach farther and hold my hand, or slide between my thighs, and feel just how much I still need him. I wish I had the courage to reach over and take his hand. Inhaling, I blow out a long breath and throw caution to the wind. I place my hand over his and for a moment, happiness floods through me.

But like everything in my life, it’s short lived. He slides his away and can’t even look at me, choosing to stare out of the window all the way to the club. This is why I question everything. I should’ve known he’d pull away. I did know he would.

I refuse to let the tears fall and coyly wipe my eyes. I had to go and burst my bubble.

Now I’m wondering why he even wanted me to come with him to the club. I should’ve stayed at home.

All the brothers are waiting and the minute the car stops, Mason and Zach are out and heading to their families. I go to open the door when he says my name.

“Don’t worry about it, I read it wrong.”

I climb out of the car and stone over every emotion wanting me to scream and cry.

Alannah, with Rayna in her arms, rushes Leo and I hang back, knowing where my place is—on the outside, looking in. Just like always.

“Daddy!”

As shit as I feel, I can’t help but smile, seeing how happy Rayna is to see her dad. He spins her around and hugs her tight.

Cas walks over with Leo’s cut and Leo adjusts his hold on Rayna so he can shrug into it without having to put her down.

Staring off across the compound, I see Zach is holding his son in one arm and holding Nina with the other. She cries into his chest, and he can’t stop kissing the top of her head. I’m so happy for her to have him home. Out of us all, she’s the one who struggled the most.
