The British asshole hangs up on me. I grip the phone so tight, my skin turns white.

The door opens, and Bonnie steps in with Sebastian on her hip. Seeing me, she explains, “He’s not sleeping well at the moment. I couldn’t sleep, so I said I’d watch him so Nina could get some rest.”

I don’t see much of Nina, but she’s a good girl who truly loves Zachery.

“Are you worried about what’s going on?” I blurt out.

Out of all the old ladies, she stands next to Lana when it comes to the strongest of them, but she has a part of her that believes in Sparky and the club too much. That belief got Sparky a scar down his cheek because she thought he’d be fine going to get shit from their house when we were on lockdown years ago.

“In a way, it’s only natural,” she replies. “But whatever happens, I know the club will get through it.”

As soon as I take a seat at the table, she passes Sebastian over so she can make him a bottle.

He stares up at me with big brown eyes, so much like his daddy’s, and I wonder if he’s the next generation? I saw it in both of my sons’ eyes when they were this little, and Sparky saw it in JJ’s. Ricky had no choice with the twins. Pope would’ve had them patch in the day they were born if he had his way.

“We’ll be doing this again soon with our own blood,” she remarks, pulling me out of my musings.

“Did you ever think we’d be more of a family than the club?” I ask.

Her laugh is quiet, yet it fills the kitchen. “If you’d have had your way all those years ago, I wouldn’t be around today.”

I remember the days I wanted her gone. I didn’t think she was genuine, believing she was here as a spy for her brother. I didn’t trust her, and I didn’t hide it. Not until she shot and killed him.

I knew Sparky had fallen hard for her, and would go to war for her. Yet unlike him, I wasn’t thinking with my dick when it came to her.

Turned out I was wrong, and I’m glad I was. I never thought there would be a woman out there who could keep a hold of him, even years later. She’s not only made him happy for over twenty years, she’s still the only one he sees in a room full of people.

I never believed in soul mates. It was something of a fairy-tale, which I never put any stock in. But these days, being with Lana, and seeing my brothers with their old ladies after all this time, it’s something I can’t deny.

“Sparky wouldn’t have let you go,” I tell her.

She snorts. “It certainly took him long enough to pull his head from his ass.”

“Yeah. But once he did, it was worth it, and now we’re all having a grandchild.”

“A grandson at that. The future… maybe of this club?”

“I was thinking that myself. You reckon it’ll see a third generation?”

“With how deep this place is in us all, I see a fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh.”

“Fuck, I don’t even want to imagine a world in seven generations’ time.”

“Maybe not, but you’ll all live forever in this place. Your names will be spoken of like you only died yesterday. We do it now with brothers lost decades ago. You’ll never be left behind, because you’re Cas fucking Jackson.”

I narrow my eyes. “Sparky told you about my plans, didn’t he?”

“He mentioned something. Don’t worry, I haven’t said anything.”

“Do you have an opinion on the matter?”

“Personally, I think it’s the right decision. Not only have you given so much to this club, you’ve also lost a lot. And you’ve got so much to look forward to. Our kids are married, having babies, or have had babies. All you and Sparky wanted to build was a future for your sons, and you’ve done that. They’re living proof. You should get to enjoy it.”

“Are you talking about me or Sparky?”

Her smile lights up the room. “Mainly Sparky, but it still applies to you too. Everything I said was true.”

Passing Sebastian over, I get to my feet.
