“Call them.”

“Tell him to ask for Bryce Rollins,” Aiden said.

“Ask for Bryce Rollins. Aiden says he works for them. Undercover.”

“Okay. You all right over there?” Thomas asked. “Do you need anything?”

“I’ll let you know. Hopefully, this case is about to come to a head. Thanks.” As soon as Chase hung up the phone rang again. “It’s Josh.”

“Don’t answer,” Aiden warned. “I don’t want the local cops involved.”

“No way,” Chase answered. “What’s up?”

His brother shook his head in annoyance and got out of the car.

“Is Jacquie with you?” Josh demanded.

“No. I left her with Cash in the barn about an hour ago.”

“She’s not here now, but her car’s here, and so is yours.” Josh sounded panicked.

A flash of that girl’s body came to him, this time with Jacquie’s face, and Chase’s gut coiled as an angry ball of nerves flared to life inside him. He clenched and unclenched his fists, trying to rein in the desire to lash out. Did Aiden plan this? “Can you track her phone?”

“It says she’s still here. I found it in the paddocks next to the barn.”

“She couldn’t ride, not with her ribs.”

“I know, and all the horses are accounted for.”

Chase got out of the car. “Jacquie’s missing,” he said to his brother.

Aiden shrugged, his eyes wide with surprise.

“Where are you?” Josh asked.

“Where are we?” Chase demanded of Aiden.

Aiden shook his head. He wasn’t answering.

“I’m with Aiden, but I have no clue where I am.”

“Send me a pin to your location.”

“All right, but don’t come blazing in. Aiden says he’s DEA, and there’s something big going down tonight. He wan’s my help but wants to keep it on the down-low.”

“Seriously?” Aiden asked, and cursed under his breath.

“I know Jacquie texted me,” Josh said. “That’s why I’m concerned that she’s not here.”

“Is she with Callie?” Chase asked.

“No, and Callie still has Killer.”

A bitterness turned in Chase’s stomach. “I don’t like the sound of that.”

“Me, either,” Josh said.

Chase turned to Aiden. “Tell me where we are right now, or I’m leaving to go find Jacquie.”
