She looks stunning. And I’m shoving cornstarch down my pants.

“Can I help you…clean up?”

Asher closed his eyes. “I could try to explain this, but my pride is already gone.”

Her hand cupped his face, her thumbs brushing away cornstarch from his cheeks. Then, she stepped back and looked him up and down.

Her smile stretched further. “You’ve definitely got me intrigued.”

She dropped her hands, and Asher could smell her usual scent of vanilla and honey. He inhaled deeply, his senses swimming. Why does she have to look and smell so good?

“Chuck told me it would stop the sweat from showing up too much.” A tingling spread up the back of his neck and into his face as she compressed her lips flat. “Anyway, let’s go. I wouldn’t want you to miss your yoga class.”

“Now you’re just trying to change the subject, but yeah, let’s go. Jimmy is probably waiting.” Willow clamped her lips.

She’s trying so hard not to laugh. I must look like such an idiot.

It was almost impossible to keep his eyes off her. Her yoga pants were tight fitting, clinging to every curve and drawing his attention.

We’re just friends. I could at least show a flicker of interest in this guy, whoever he is.

“What’s this guest’s name?”

Willow glanced back at him. “Jimmy. I just told you that.”

“Right.”So much for trying to show interest. I can’t even get that right.“And he took you out on the lake?”

“We went out on the canoe together.” A faint giggle wound its way toward him. “You should have seen him jump when a fish splashed in the water next to the canoe. I think he thought it was a crocodile!”

“Sounds like you had fun with him.”

Her smile was soft, but her eyes didn’t linger on his. “Yeah, I did. I don’t know much about him, though.”

“You’ve got time to get to know him.”Even if I wish you wouldn’t.“Right, yoga class.” His eyes narrowed as a guy began to walk toward them. He was bare chested and wore tiny little yoga shorts that left very little to the imagination. Please say this isn’t Jimmy.

“Willow, hi! You made it on time, then!”

“Sure did.”

“You look amazing.”

Asher kicked at a clump of grass and cleared his throat.I really don’t need to be here for this.“Bye, Willow. I’ll see you later.”

He didn’t wait for Willow to reply. The last thing he needed was to be introduced to this bare-chested Tarzan. Turning his back on them both, he strode off across the campsite, his jaw clenched and his hands curled into tight fists. He didn’t even know where he was going. The only thing he wanted was to get as far away as he could from Willow and Jimmy.

Willow frowned, watching as Asher strode away from her. His back was tense, his hands curled, and even his walk was stiff and straight. What’s up with him?

“Do you want to head in?”

Willow jumped as Jimmy’s hand touched hers. “Oh, sorry. I wanted to introduce you to Asher, but…he’s obviously got stuff to do.”

“That’s okay, I don’t mind.” Jimmy’s eyes gleamed. “I like having you all to myself.” Swiping his brown hair out of his eyes, he reached for her hand again. “Come on, I don’t want to be late.”

This feels weird.Willow wanted to let go of Jimmy’s hand, but his fingers had already twined through hers and were holding her tightly. A couple of the other guests threw them a curious look, but Willow ducked her head. She didn’t want them getting the wrong impression.

Although maybe they’re looking at Jimmy.
