“I’m not sure I am. This was Asher’s idea, but he’s right. If I don’t start dating, then I’m going to end up marryinghimin two years.”

A small frown flickered across Hadley’s brow. “That wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, though. He’s ridiculously hot, and he’s your best friend!”

“Exactly.” Willow shook her head. “Emphasis on the wordfriend. I can’t think of him in any other way, it would be too weird. We’ve known each other for such a long time that we’re almost like family.”

Hadley’s frown rose. “When you put it like that…”

“Yeah, I know. Let’s sign up for this app, so I can see who else is out there.”

“Okay.” Hadley gestured to the laptop screen. “You’ve got to fill in all of this stuff first—name, age, location. We can get to the blurb afterward.”

Willow squinted at the screen. “Do you think most people put a real photo on their profile?”

“There’s definitely going to be a few of them that don’t look anything like their profile picture when you meet them. And definitely a ton of them that will have made up some stuff about themselves.”

“I guess you could be whoever you wanted to be.”

“Yeah, but only until they meet you in person. Then you’re kind of screwed.” Hadley crossed one leg over the other and looked at her sister. “Why haven’t you dated these last few years?”

Willow squinted back at her. “Ihavedated on and off.” Her mouth was dry as she struggled to find an excuse. “There just hasn’t been anyone in particular.”

“Or maybe you have high standards.”

Willow wrinkled her nose. “I don’t think I do, but I guess it’s not a bad thing. I did think I would be married—or at least in a serious relationship—by the time I reached this age.”

“I guess I’m a bit surprised, too. I always thought out of you, me, and Charlotte, you’d be the first one of us to get married.”

Trying to ignore the type of pain that came with Hadley’s words—words that stuck a little too close to home—Willow turned back to the laptop.Truth is, I always thought I’d be married before Charlotte. Her lips flattened.I guess that’s what I get for being a little vain.

“Okay, so I filled in all the important parts. Now we’re onto the profile.”

“The part I get to do with you.” Hadley shuffled forward and moved closer. “Gimme.”

Willingly handing her the laptop, Willow sat back on the couch. “How do we even start something like this?”

“With introducing yourself.” Hadley’s fingers began to fly across the keyboard. “Hi, I’m Willow, and I live in Windy Lake. I love…” She threw a glance toward Willow. “This is where you come up with stuff.”

“Oh. Uh…I love Windy Lake because it’s where I grew up. I have a lot of good memories, and some of my family still live nearby. I love the lake. I love Camp Windy Lake and everything it has to offer. When the Film Festival comes, it makes everybody real excited. There’s celebrities and—”

“Hold on a second.” Hadley’s eyes were gleaming, and the corner of her mouth tipped up. “You’re trying to sell yourself, not Windy Lake!”

“Right.” Clearing her throat, Willow shook her head. “This is going to be harder than I thought.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll get it. You could talk about paddleboarding or canoeing...’”

“Except I’m terrible at canoeing, and I can’t even stand up on the paddleboard.”

Hadley grinned. “Yeah, but they don’t need to know that. It’s not like you’re going to go out paddleboarding on your first date.”

“Then, while you’re at it, why don’t you write down that I’m the best photographer this side of the Mississippi River?” A bubble of laughter lodged itself in Willow’s throat. “Oh, and that I’m absolutely stunning—so gorgeous that I even model in my own photographs!”

Hadley quickly began to type, but Willow didn’t stop her. From the grin that was plastered on her sister’s face, she guessed that Hadley found this just as funny as she did.

“I love to go hiking.”

Hadley’s snort of disbelief made Willow giggle.

“And in my spare time, I like to go to yoga. I’m really into wellness and can often be found at the Windy Lake Natural Foods store. I have a small collection of crystals and can sometimes be found cleansing my chakras.”
