I wasted no more time in the bathroom, because I didn’t want Finn to thinkIwas pooping, and I skipped back to his bedroom.

I didn’t bother putting my dress from yesterday back on. I didn’t like wearing dirty clothes, they mademefeel dirty. Instead, I picked my dress, bra, and panties up from where they were on the floor. I folded them neatly, despite the fact they were dirty, and stuffed them into my bag.

I could easily wear Finn’s shirt and boxers home. They didn’t show anything inappropriate, and I usually wore a whole lot less to sleep in, but I would make sure to wash and return them to Finn afterwards, because judging by his mostly empty dresser and entirely empty closet, he didn’t have a whole lot of clothes to begin with, and likely couldn’t afford for me to be stealing any of what he did have.

If I didn’t have issues with Ariel and her crew right now, I would hit up Damien and ask him to sort out Finn’s wardrobe. The guy would be all over that without question. He’d more than likely get off on the challenge.

Too bad they all seemed to think Finn and I were both steaming piles of garbage.

Goddamn, she had really hurt me. I didn’t want to think about her anymore. Not everything needed to be about Ariel Kimber all the time.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Finn asked me from his place on the bed. He was propped up on his elbows with a frown on his face while he watched me slip my cowboy boots on. “It’s still early. We should shower together and then go out for breakfast. I bet Romero would love to go out to eat with us.”

He was so damn sweet that it was almost painful to tell him no, but no is what I had to tell him. It would be good practice for the future, so he didn’t turn me into a complete and total sucker.

With both my boots now on, I stood up and placed both my hands on my hips as I faced him. “Sorry, sweetness, but I actually enjoy my job, and I need to get to it. If I’m not around, then there’s also no one to tell all the dumb bitches who throw themselves at Rain to go choke on it and die. It’s one of the highlights of my day and brings me a great deal of joy. Why don’t you offer to take Romero out to breakfast though? I bet he would love that so much. Just a heads-up? Let him pay and don’t argue with him about it. He gets pissy.”

Maybe I should have let Finn find out that last little bit for himself, but there was this part of me that felt like I owed it to him to share the info because we were in this together. There’d been a shift when Rain had dumped me in Romero’s lap, and Romero made it very clear he was attracted to me. But I didn’t think the change had actually started until Finn had showed up on the scene.

They all had my loyalty, and I was discovering just how much I had theirs.

Finn sighed dramatically as he climbed out of bed. “Fine, I’ll let you go, but you better get that sweet ass of yours over here and kiss me before you leave.”

I could do that easily.

I ran right at him and jumped on him. I clung to his neck as he stumbled backwards laughing. He fell back on the bed, and I fell on top of him.

“Baby, you’re crazy.”

He really had no idea.

I pressed my lips to his, stopping his laughter just as quickly as it had come. His lips parted, and I slipped my tongue inside. There was no hesitancy or urgency to this kiss. It was a slow, sweet farewell until next time.

It was Finn’s way of letting me know he was going to miss me.

I was going to miss him too, and I told him right back with my lips and teeth and tongue.

We broke apart, breathless, and I pecked him on the lips one more time before crawling off him. He squeezed my ass before I could fully slip away from him.

“I’ll see you later, baby,” Finn promised.

I sure hoped so. I didn’t need Romero thinking he could keep Finn here all to himself. There would be none of that nonsense going on under my nose.

We were all just going to have to learn how to share like the grown ass adults that we were.

I snatched up my bag, and I might have put an extra sway to my hips as I strutted out of Finn’s room. Even though I wanted to, I didn’t look back at him. If I saw him lying there, staring at me with those eyes of his that were finally starting to bleed emotions when I was around him, then I the likelihood of me actually going into work and not crawling back into bed with him wasn’t very high.

Finn was one itch I’d never get tired of scratching. He was one more obsession, and one that might actually be good for me. I’d never had one of those before.

When I got to the bottom of the stairs, Romero called my name from the kitchen. Did the man ever sleep? It wasn’t something I had ever witnessed him doing. He was like a freaking vampire.

A sexy ginger vampire.

He was standing with his ass to the counter and his arms crossed over his chest. He had on a black, long-sleeved thermal shirt and a pair of gray slacks. His feet were bare, and his long red hair hung down freely and straight to his hips.

“I checked your work schedule with Rain, so I know you need to get to work. I ran out and got you your fancy coffee and something for breakfast. I’ll give it to you to take with you, but I’m going to need something from you first.”

That was very sweet of him, and something I greatly appreciated. I loved it when people fed me, and I crossed my fingers behind my back that there was something sweet involved besides my coffee.
