“I can feel you too,” I growl in her ear. “Wet and hot.”

“Luke,” she whimpers.

I tilt my pelvis into her and watch her shiver.

“Keep riding me, baby.”

Her eyes slip closed as her body starts to tense. “Oh… oh… Luke.” Her voice is barely a whisper.

“Fuck, I love when you say my name,” I growl. “Keep saying it.”

“Luke,” she groans, bringing a hand up to caress her breast. “Luke, Luke… I—”

A shudder rolls through her, and then she lets out a deep moan.

I watch her shatter, her body overtaken with pleasure. I’ve never seen anything so goddamn beautiful. And a second later, my eyes locked on her face, my fingers digging into her hips, I come harder than I have in years, moaning her name as I do.

My head drops back against the couch, and the weight of her body rests against me. I wrap my arms around her back. This is the best feeling ever.

“That was incredible,” she breathes before sloppily kissing my cheek.

“Fuck, I love you.”

Oh shit. No. Fuck. I said that out loud.

I’ve managed to keep it inside for months. Every time I saw her, I wanted to say it, but I never did. I kept it locked inside until now. Hours of kissing and one insane orgasm and the words tumbled out.

She quickly climbs off me, staring at me, eyes wide. “What—what did you say?”

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I launch off the couch, rubbing my eyes with the heels of my palms, stalking across the room with my pants filled with cum. Not my finest moment.

I finally got her, and now I’m going to scare her away before anything else even happens.

I don’t know exactly when it happened. I’ve had feelings for her for so long, but somehow over the last year, as we grew closer, I fell hard. I remember dancing with her at my brother’s wedding and realizing I wanted her in my arms forever. There was no uncertainty. I knew I was in love with her.

“Luke.” Her soft voice cuts through my internal panic. I turn to face her. I’m shocked that she doesn’t look scared. Her eyes are filled with tenderness. “Did you mean it?” she asks. “And please don’t tell me what you think I want to hear.”

I watch as she walks toward me, eyes filled with so much vulnerability that I force myself to say it. “I meant it. I mean it.”

Relief washes over her and then she says the last thing I’m expecting. “I love you too.”

My eyes widen. “Really? Seriously? You—”

She walks over and brings her hands to my chest, looking up into my eyes. “Yes, Luke. I love you. I’ve had some kind of feelings for you for a long time, but this last year… you’ve become—” She stops short as emotion overtakes her. I step to her, stroking my hands up and down her arms, my face still registering disbelief. “You’ve become the person I trust the most. The person who lights up my day. When I’d text you randomly late at night or early in the morning, it was because I was anxious or stressed and I knew talking to you would calm me down. Everything inside of me lights on fire when I’m around you. I don’t know when it happened. I only know I’m in love with you.” She shakes her head, laughing in disbelief—I think. “Sometimes I regret not saying something about my feelings sooner. When I came home from college and saw you again, found out you were engaged—even though I was too—it killed me. You were the man I wanted, and I thought I had realized it too late. It crushed me that you weren’t mine.”

I stare at her, my stomach burning with aches from the past and the love I feel right now. I gently slide my hand into her hair, my thumb softly caressing her cheek. “But I was. And I am. And I always will be.” Maybe that sounds crazy, but I’m certain now that we were always meant to make our way to each other. Maybe we didn’t find it at first, but now we have. She’s always had some piece of me, and now she always will. “You’re mine,” I growl. “From this moment on, you’re mine. Forever. You hear me?”

She fists my shirt and pulls me toward her, our lips just centimeters apart. “You’remine, Luke O’Brien. All mine.”

Fuck yes, I am.

Our lips meet in yet another steamy kiss. This one is sloppier, filled with our raw emotions.

“Luke,” she whispers, pulling back, eyes hooded with desire.

I smile and brush my lips against hers. “Still not tonight, babe.”
