She laughs, “Your face! I’m a kinky bitch, Sy, but I’m notthatkinky.”

“Here’s dessert.” My mum sing songs as she re-enters the room carrying the cherry pie I insisted on having. She wasn’t happy about it, which makes it all more worth the while. I’m pissed at my mum for so many reasons right now, and I don’t even remember when it started.

She places the cherry pie in the centre of the table, shooting us a smile before moving around the table to where we are sitting. My heart rate picks up because my mum is about to get an eyeful of cunt she isn’t expecting, but Rhys discretely brings her cloth napkin down off the table and rests it in her lap, just in time to cover the muffin show.

“Let me take your dishes for you.” My mum is none the wiser as she sweeps up our plates and goes back to the kitchen.

I smirk at my girl. She has the devil inside her. Naughty, mischievous, and tempting. She seems a little more like herself tonight, carrying that confidence that only Rhys George has. I hope she’s back. It’s hard seeing her so upset and so unsure of herself. It hurts right in the centre of my chest like someone is reaching in and squeezing my heart.

My mum returns, pushing dessert bowls across the table to us and takes her seat, and Rhys passes me my bowl before removing her napkin and placing it back on the table.

Hello Kitty!

Fuck, I’m hard.

“Why don’t you dish dessert up, Simon.” Mum insists, giving us another one of her fake smiles. I’m about to wipe that smile away, though. Once she sees her son sporting an erection, she’s going to regret asking me to do this.

Naturally, I stand, pretty fucking happy to push my mum to breaking point, and I proceed to dish up the cherry pie. I peer down at Rhys as I hand her bowl back, her eyes meeting mine with heat as she grins happily up at me. It’s the uncomfortable clearing throat of my mum that tells me she can see the evidence of my arousal for my girl, and I try hard not to grin too much as I pass her the bowl of dessert.

Lucky for her, she doesn’t say anything but thank you, and once I sit down, we all turn our eyes to the sweet pie before us. I take a bite, closing my eyes and remembering how it felt to lick it from Rhys’ pebbled nipples.

“So, Rhys. Clearly, you and my son have something serious going.” My eyes fly open at my mum’s words, and I hone in on her. “How is this thing between the two of you going to go when we move away? Are you going to try long distance?”

“Mum!” I snap, but she fucking ignores me, brows raised like she’s just won a verbal battle as she eyes Rhys.

“You’reactuallymoving away? I didn’t know it had been decided.” Rhys frowns, dropping her fork into the bowl and turning hurt eyes to me.

“No, I’m not moving.” I shake my head.

“Don’t be silly, Simon. Of course, you are.” My mum’s words gain Rhys’ attention again. “We are moving to Perth as soon as the school year is over.”

“Uh, no.You’removing. I’m not.” I hiss, gaining the eyes of both the women in my life.

“We’ve been over this, Simon. You can’t stay here by yourself. The house is going on the market, and once it’s sold, you will have nowhere to live.”

And there it is. One of the reasons I’m hating on my mum right now. She fucking knows I don’t want to move away, and she knows how much I care about Rhys, yet she doesn’t fucking care. It’s all abouther. As always.

“Why can’t you just stay here?” I snap, and she rolls her eyes.

“We’ve been over this. I need to be closer to my sister.”

“Why should I pay the price for the mistakes you and dad made? I’m not fucking going!” I slam my hand down on the table, making Rhys jump, but I pretend she isn’t there because I need to keep my focus on my mum.

“You don’t have a choice, Simon.” Unflinching, my mum places her fork gently on the table and takes a sip of her wine.

“Wanna bet?” I stand so abruptly that my chair falls back, slamming on the tiled floor before I storm off into the foyer.

As soon as the oversized waste of space wraps around me, I look around, panicked.

Fuck, I forgot to grab my girl.

Spinning on my heel, I storm back in to see my mum and my girl in a silent Mexican standoff. As much as I know Rhys can handle herself, I don’t want to leave her with my toxic mum, and I need her by my side, so I reach down and tug her up by her hand. She scrambles to tug her dress down just in time to cover her naked flesh before I drag her across the room.

“I’m takingmygirl tomyroom. If you don’t want to see us getting dirty again, I suggest you keep away frommypart of the house.”

I hear my mum make a choking sound as I storm off with Rhys in tow, and I take two steps at a time up the staircase, going back to my bedroom.

Once inside, I slam the door, drop Cherry’s hand and stomp across the room, digging my fingers into my hair and tugging.
